Yes, I'm hoping this is a thing that will catch on here at Fimfic. And what is this thing you may ask? Well, closure frankly. Closure for stories that have been consigned to the depths of everyone's favorite lists as incomplete or even canceled.

It's basically the author telling what would've happened in the course of the story and how the characters might have changed. While it sucks to have a favorite story disappear, what really hurts is just not knowing what would have happened, that permanent question of 'What if".

So I figure I'd start with my canceled story In Search of Trouble.

In my case the mysterious monster that was terrified the mane six and started to attack the town in the never finished chapter was actually the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Yup. Basically they had been mutated by the same force that had driven the forest wild. It would've been a relic from the era of Discord but would not have been directly linked to him. All the crusaders would have become a different type of creature.

Sweetie Belle would have possessed siren-like powers that drew ponies to their doom in as her mist-like body shrouded the area that also dampened magical powers at the same time

Scootaloo would have basically become an electrified super sized pony that drug a perpetual hurricane with her at all times.

And Applebloom was actually the giant the Mane Six encountered in the Everfree, mid-transformation (she was also the one that attacked Scootaloo). Aside from her size, she would have been damn near invulnerable to damage and was basically the Juggernaut.

The reveal would have taken some time, keeping the ponies in the dark as they only got glimpses of something massive moving through the woods or clouds and the occasional inexplicable fog. Eventually the Princess would have got involved and while they would fare better overall, the CMC would have continued to evade capture.

Eventually the secret would have gotten out and would leave everypony wondering if they really could turn weapons and magic against their little sisters or if they should try reaching out to the trio as they were.

And before you ask, the Elements would not have worked as I fucking loathe deus ex machina. While the three were heavily mutated and larger than any pony, they were still recognizable and basically appeared as enlarged and mutated adult versions of themselves. (Yes, Sweetie could pull together a real body out of her mists) leading to doubt in the Mane Six.

It would have ended with the Mane Six extending the hoof of friendship and understanding as opposed to simply just slinging magic around.

Also Jinamizi is Swahili for Nightmare which would come as no surprise to anyone that read the story. However, Nightmare, having been split from Luna in the very first episodes held no animosity towards the ponies and was content to live in the Everfree, especially after the Elements gave her a body of her very own (and no, her true form never would be solidified to just one type of pony. Whoever looked at her saw a large dark pony of the same type as themselves. Luna would have beheld her in her original form.) And as you can guess from her name, she would have been friends with Zecora.

And now you know. Pass it on if you have a story that's been canceled or placed on permanent hiatus. Give your readers that little bit of closure.
