    Powering a TARDIS

Hello again! As stated in my earlier blog post, the TARDIS has only a limited internal buffer of artron energy when seperated from the prime Eye of Harmony. So, the question: How is the TARDIS functioning OUTSIDE our universe??? (i.e. in equestria and such) The main problem presented is that the TARDIS is finicky when scavenging for fuel, and only accepts energy from the Doctor's home universe,

Doctor Who TARDIS Technical jargon explained

Hello there, and welcome to hell my first blog. Being a whovian as well as a brony, I find the occasional lack of explanation of certain technical terms of the whoniverse irritating. This post should provide a basic outline of important parts of a TARDIS in layman's terms.

Doctor Who TARDIS Technical jargon explained · 2:48pm Nov 23rd, 2014

Hello there, and welcome to hell my first blog. Being a whovian as well as a brony, I find the occasional lack of explanation of certain technical terms of the whoniverse irritating. This post should provide a basic outline of important parts of a TARDIS in layman's terms.

~DISCLAIMER~
This post may not appeal to everyone. If you have any interest in Doctor Who, this information may be handy for the more technical crossover fics. If not, this post may look like random ramblings to you.

TARDIS - Time and Relative Dimension(s) in Space. A ship capable of time and space travel. Everything else mentioned exists inside this ship.

Eye of Harmony copy - Power source of a TARDIS. Linked to Prime Eye of Harmony of Gallifrey, from which it draws power. If unlinked, it can still provide a limited source of energy, but needs to be refuelled. TARDISes can scavenge for fuel if needed.

Time Sceptre - A spike that runs through the centre of the TARDIS. Contains control room (see below) ,the Eye of Harmony copy and the engines (see below), along with other key components of a TARDIS.

Dynamorphic Generators (Engines) - They convert energy from the Eye of Harmony copy to allow the TARDIS to perform a jump in space and time.

Control room - The most commonly seen room in the TARDIS in the show. This room contains the console which controls the TARDIS, as well as the time column. This room may also contain extra furniture and equipment, to the discretion of the operator of the TARDIS.

Time Column - This device is housed in the centre of the console. It contains multiple motors and rotors, including the Time Rotor. It holds back the full power of the TARDIS during a jump in Space-time, preventing the excess power from escaping.

This was just a basic explanation of vital parts of the TARDIS. If you want a more detailed explanation, check out this guide

That's all for now!
