Christmas Extravaganza (Suggestions Needed!) · 3:25am Nov 17th, 2014
As you may or not know, I now have my own website at toixstory.com! Since I don't want it to get stale and wish to do some fun stuff with it, this holiday season I'm running a little Christmas Extravaganza wherein I watch a bunch of Christmas tv episodes and movies and talk about them on the blog. I'm really excited for it, so I thought I would spread the word through here. I'd appreciate if people checked out that link to the blog to comment, but I appreciate people commenting on here as well, since I know more people on Fimfic anyway. And yes, pone is on the way, but I'm trying to be more involved until I post it.
Anyway, here's the text from the website post if you don't want to go to the site:
In honor of the first snow in my slice of Texas, a great surprise in and of itself, I'm kicking off the beginnings of my Christmas Extravaganza! What is it, you may ask? Well, as mentioned in an earlier post, this Holiday Season I will craft a list of the best Christmas films or television episodes and watching all of them throughout December, leading up to Christmas Day. I'll comment one each of them; not about their quality, per say, as much as how best they have captured the spirit of Christmas in one way or the other.
That is where you, my readers, come in. While I myself have quite a list of ideas for episodes and films, I would like to hear what you all have to suggest! So it can be a film you enjoy, or a television show that really stuck with you, an animated short, or what have you. I'd prefer to try to keep what is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or HBO Go, but I'm fine with buying some of them as well, so long as they are awesome.
So that's it, folks. Suggest away, and I'll start making my list. I won't give them away, but one thing I can say so far is that Christmas Eve's slot has already been filled by my favorite holiday treat: Die Hard. Because, well, it's Die Hard.
Now, suggest away!
P.S. Since I'm secular myself, feel free to suggest a holiday-themed movie or episode from another religion (so long as it's wintry) or a more secular, winter themed show/film. I don't discriminate, after all.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas is always a classic.
The Runaway Bride and Voyage of The Damned (Doctor Who season 3(Bride) and 4(Voyage) episode 1).
Ghostbusters II.
I mean, sure, it's technically a New Year's movie, but they're so close to each other they may as well be the same holiday.
I mean, hell, if Christmas and Thanksgiving are practically the same holiday, why not?
Can't go wrong with Groundhog Day, one of Bill Murray's best, even if he hated filming it.
A Claymation Christmas Celebration has been a big favorite for my family for years. Those singing camels always make me smile.
