I'm a writer of fluff, kibitzer, and especially interested in canon AU: Equestria Girls, the comics, etc. They are fun to play with.

    Follow-up on that stalker thing

He seems to have gone quiet for now. I'm assuming the admins managed to smack down all of those alts. I haven't seen any new material on Tumblr or DeviantArt, either.

Speaking of DeviantArt, here's the reply I got from them:

    Thanks for getting in touch!

A member of the DeviantArt staff has reviewed this situation, and we have taken appropriate steps to resolve the problem.

    Just so you know...

There's a person on here who has been creating alts and harassing me. I keep getting posts like "why have you stopped talking to me? Tell me what I did. I need closure." I'm also getting PMs along the order of "yo, why are you ignoring X? I thought you were friends."

    I lurk

I know some people have asked why I won’t say anything, etc., but the truth is that I lurk. I sign in to see something, usually to re-read Rage Reviews. There are some things I can’t see unless I’m a bonafide member over a certain age. And then I just don’t ever log out, but I’m not “here” and ignoring anyone on purpose.

Some people make themselves very, very unhappy

Haven't been around much, but then, you knew that. Busyness, health issues, and frankly a whole lot of depression. Even ponies weren't interesting me very much anymore. I had a ticket to go to EQLA and a party that same weekend, and I did not go to either.

    Hey guys guys guys

So, hi, you haven't probably seen much from me, and that is primarily because I have been sucked in again by my primary fandom, Harry Potter. Which isn't surprising, considering that I help run a convention and teach a course on it and am the school's club's faculty advisor and have given talks on it for, oh, over a decade.

So for me, for the last few months, it has been mostly about:

So in case you didn't see this-- · 4:33am Nov 15th, 2014

--I've got a new fic up, called Command Performance. And this time Princess Luna and Celestia are taking over.

This has started happening a lot lately. I'm still thrilled to be working in CheesePie the way lesser artists work in marble (which you may remember as a line from A Christmas Story about profanity). But increasingly, other characters step up and do things and want to steal focus, and the next thing I know, I've got Princess Luna lounging around being Norma Desmond. With tinsel around her horn. "I AM big. It's the pictures that got small."

I mean, not even Pinkie can compete with that.

But this may answer the question, "how can you write so many ship fics with these two?" In a way, I'm not. Their oddball "everyone but thee and me" relationship has been a lens to look at Equestria with, among other things. Last time it was Rarity, this time it seems to be Luna and Celestia, although by the time the next chapters come out, Rainbow Dash may have hijacked the fic into being about her, which would be very like her, wouldn't it?

Argh, I have delayed so much doing things I must do this weekend. I even promised to write something for this site, which I hope does not stink, and I've got something I'd like to mention about culture--but y'know, it never seems as good as it does in the stories. Because if I flat out TELL you what the inspiration was for X and Y, it's not as much fun as if you figure it out for yourself with your own unique take on things. And that goes triple for writing about party ponies, because it's not just Cheese who gets paranoid about the magic going away if you can explain it.

EDIT: Sigh. I hate these pointless downrates. I mean, I know that's what they are, but I don't think there's anything I can do about them.

You're also not writing traditional shipfics in terms of focusing the story on "X and Y get together, happiness ensues"; still less are your writing porn. You're writing romantic comedy-drama and the focus is on the relationship between these two very weird but loveable ponies, and the ways in which their lives interact with the others whom they meet. That, and the fact that you are (in my opinion, very believably given Cheese's nomadic way of life) having the romance progress slowly and often focusing on Cheese going to different places (such as Appleloosa and the Manehattan area), gives you a great opportunity to have a lot of various things happen.

So it doesn't read as obsessively centered on just your hero and heroine as would most shipfics in this fandom.

Scoots I dont quite get what you mean? You arent going to stop writing cheesepie because i dont think that's what i am getting from this. I guess you were saying that other characters are taking the spotlight away from cheesie and pinkie right? forgive me for not understanding...:fluttershysad:

2595796 Oh, I don't have any plans to stop writing CheesePie! I'm having too much fun. What I mean is that in my CheesePie fics, other characters are getting some focus, too, and I think that's basically a good thing.

It is sometimes the story needs to give the other characters the spotlight as well. If i find myself not including fluttershy much I try to do a story where she is involved somehow every character deserves a shot if anything you can pull anything off even with luna and celestia here. So i understand now. :pinkiehappy:

I like what you have so far. I do not understand the haters following you around, downvoting you because they do not like the ’ship. Just remember that it could be worse:

Scribbler nearly lost her YouTubeChannel because somepony did not like the ’ship in a story she read and FalseFlagged her (false-flagging does not refer to a false-flag-operation, in this instance, but to falsely flagging her channel as in breech of the Guidelines of YouTube).

If the flankhole downvoting just because you do not like CheesePie reads this, you do not need to read ’ships you do not like and downvote them. You can instead read ’ships you like. When you finish reading the ’ships you like, you can write stories with the ’ships you like in them.

This is why I love your work. The romance occurs, but it doesn't shut out the rest of the world. As you said, it is a lens through which you explore that world, bringing greater insight into underconsidered aspects of Equestria. Whoever manages to hijack the story next, I look forward to seeing what you do with them.
