Starting Anew: My goals for this December. · 12:33am Nov 13th, 2014
This November has been... shit.
Well, this entire semester has been pretty awful, come to think of it. I'm convinced that one of my professors literally wants the entire class to drop out of university (an experience I'm sure a lot of people can relate to), I've been too busy writing papers for school to write for fun very much (apart from the little oneshot I wrote... a time I probably could've/should've used to write Hoof Covers Bruise... ) and I've only been able to keep connected with this place via mobile device for the most part.
But after this semester ends in early-mid December... I'm determined to get things cracking again. This semester from hell will be dead and in the past, and a whole free month (including a week in January) will have just begun.
Here's what I'm going to do.
1.) Write 750 words on a daily basis: If I can write WAYYY more for school per day and not have fun doing it, then I can do less for FimFiction and have fun doing it.
2.) Finish the stories that need finishing: You guys probably know which two stories they are by now.
3.) Finish at least one oneshot before the break ends: I think I can do that. That's a perfectly reasonable expectation for someone that wants to be a (part-time!) professional writer someday and is already an adult. If I can do more, then I can do more, but I know I can finish one before next semester. And in case you guys want to know, it'll be the Sweetie Belle and Rarity fanfic that was voted upon a while back.
I also have another question for you all: On a scale of 0 to 0, how interested would you be in me starting a Let's Play channel on Youtube?
*dodges thrown brick*
I'M KIDDING, I'M KIDDING! Relaaax...
Back to the list, though. Last summer, I put too much on my plate in terms of goals I had set for myself. It was unrealistic, and because I felt the "walls closing in on me" when I saw that there was no way to actually do everything I had set out to do in the amount of time I'd given myself, I sort of just... shut down. This time, I feel like these goals are much more reasonable. I understand if you don't believe me considering my track record with... well, everything, but I'm gonna make you believe in me a little more after this December.
Hope this sounds like a good plan for you guys. I still feel bad for not having HCB's final chapter out, though. I will say that it's coming out really well so far, and I have the majority of it written already (about 7100 words). I've had to completely rework the dialogue between [INSERT SPOILER HERE] a few times to make it more resonant and powerful, and that's half the reason why it's taking this damn long, but I've finally gotten it down. So that's good.
I also have a 200 follower "special" coming up. Assuming I get there. It's not a story, but it'll be something I believe people may find somewhat entertaining. I've actually already revealed what it will be in a past blog, but I'm gonna make you dig around for it if you're bored and you've got some time to kill (and if you want to post the answer in the comments section, then fine by me!) It's not gonna be THAT exciting, but it'll be something!
Take care, guys and gals.

Also want to give a shout out to OnionPie for helping to get me on the right track with consistent writing and also, for introducing me to a program called FocusWriter that can help with staying on task when writing and setting time and word-based goals for yourself. It's actually pretty nifty. Here's the link for it (It's free!):

Sounds great! Look forward to hoof covers bruise updates! About that Youtube thing, sounds awesome. It'd be cool to be able to see someone I know from here doing lets plays. That is, of course, if it doesn't prevent you from writing for us readers. *wink* but seriously, do what you want
I knw Hoofs Covers Bruise is one fic, but what's the other one? Also good luck surviving scholastic hell. I'll keep a holy Luna Pie ready for you.
No matter how bad your semester is going, just remember:
I'm that lab tech who once poured a piece of someone's Master's project down the drain.
Just putting it in perspective

A shout out for me? Thanks! I've never had one of those before. It's always a pleasure to get writers on track. If only someone would make sure I stay on track... Speaking of which, we should talk again. I haven't heard from you in a while.

I'd probably be pretty terrible at Let's Plays, to be honest. If I ever did one, it would probably be me trying to be as awkward as possible on purpose. And besides, my computer sucks really hard, so gaming isn't exactly the most feasible thing for me right now. But I appreciate it!

Much appreciated! I'm gonna need all the luck I can get. And the other one is Don't Open Your Eyes, Scoot, which is also on a bit of a delay right now, but not as extreme as Hoof Covers Bruise.

That sounds... terrible. That does put things into perspective, gotta say.
Sorry that happened to you... and to him/her.

No problem! You deserve the shout out.
This weekend is unfortunately going to be my busiest weekend of the whole semester, so I won't have a lot of time to talk (or write), but I'll keep in touch. Promise.

2593748 Well being not awkward in videos is a learned skill. Anyway, see ya around
