The Alchemist's Heart (sequel to When a Pony Calls) has now finished.
I previously posted a blog in relation to this story, and now that it's done I felt like doing so again.
If you don't want any potential spoilers, back away now (& ignore the other blog post entirely)...
So in the end, the story has a powerful message, one not often explored enough.
After a tragedy, especially ones as profound as those two stories, many follow two paths.
They place blame and then avenge the wrongs done upon them and those they love.
Or they collapse, and either lose themselves to depression or try to wholly ignore what happened.
This time the third option is shown: The strength to forgive and move forward.
Too often do we humans live by the ideal of 'an eye for an eye'.
Too often do we give in to the shallow comforts of revenge and avoidance.
Too often do we forget that when we hold negative emotions, especially those of such power, they become us.
Those who hate are never without anger.
Those who dodge hard choices will always be cowards in their hearts.
Those who cannot face their own issues will always be haunted by them.
Please, take it to heart.
All of you, regardless of age or past failings, can turn the trend around.
Let go of anger.
Embrace forgiveness, even if it seems wrong.
You do not need to tell them, you merely need to forgive them, in your heart.
True strength, is to look past the wrongs others do to you, and forgive them for their mistakes.
You need it more than they do.
Thank you.
