In which I post about my Gryphon Empire headcanon for all to hear. Dispite the fact no-one will read this.
The generally accepted fact is that there are those awesome Griffin (Gryphon? yeah gryphon) countries to the north, resting high up in the mountains.
So cool.
At any rate, I have one issue with this. In Gryphon the Brush Off, someone said that gryphons were "very rare". This is generally interpreted as "rare in Equestria". However, I had this awesome idea.
There were those awesome gryphon nations to the north. Then everything changed when the Fire nation attacked.
What? No, I didn't mean that.
There were those awesome gryphon nations to the north, but then, a few years before the Summer Sun Celebration, there was a massive war. Huge. Between the gryphons and... a formidable enemy. However, the enemy succeeded primarily by seeding distrust among the gryphon generals, keeping them from responding adequately. Hence, most of the gryphons were wiped out.
Celestia was a gryphon ally, and aided the survivors. She allowed them to seek refuge in Equestria, (their numbers pitifully small, seriously, it was genocide out there) and promised to aid them in the re-capturing their ancestral home.
It is this premise that three of my stories will center around.
EDIT: Whoops I'm gonna have to strike that from this post because it's likely that I'm just blowing smoke, here. You'll find out if I ever finish.
