What I wanna see · 1:28am Nov 4th, 2014
You know what I wanna see? I have thought about that question for a bit. What do I wanna see? I know people ask deep questions all the time, but I'm not one to complain. I wanna see a lot of things.
You see, ever since I was little, I've always wanted to see a living, breathing dinosaur. Maybe even a dragon. I wanted to see alien life on Titan, or Mars.
I wanna feel weightless as I drifted on a space station. I wanted to fly on the fastest spaceship.
Now, I just wanna see my friends succeed in life. I know that it sounds sappy and stuff, but, a few weeks ago, I realized I won't live forever. Odysseus proved that he is a hero, but he did not live forever.
My friends asked me a serious question last week. They asked, "Dart, if you had the chance to live with a Goddess in the heavens, and be immortal, would you take that chance?"
I was about to give an answer, but I thought about it. For a long time...though I do intend to exaggerate, so let's say about five minutes. I then answered, "No, I wouldn't."
"Why not?," They asked, "You'd get to live forever!"
"Yes, you would." I said, before sighing. "It would be Hell...knowing that everyone I knew, loved, and cared about would be gone. Dust. Bones. I would live to see the end of humanity on Earth, and then the start of a new race that would have the same fate. It'd be horrible to see my blood line turn to ashes and dust." I have them a state. "If I'm going to live, I won't live forever. The knowledge that someday I will die saddens me, but, it's life."
Ever since then, I've heard that almost everyone of my friends heard what I said. Word travels fast.
They agreed with me, to the last sentence. I may not wanna die, but, I don't wanna live forever.
Now, when you ask me what I wanna see, I will give you one, simple answer...
"I wanna see how I live my life. God created me for a reason, so, might as well find out why."
That's what I wanna see.
Same here.
