Friendship is Card Games: Kenbucky Roller Derby #2 & #3

We return to the cutthroat world of G5 roller derby, where Sunny’s trying her darndest to prove she’s more than just a casual skater… and has assembled one of the most ragtag teams of misfits this side of the Mighty Ducks in the process. Let’s see how the story’s developed from there.

    Swan Song

No, not mine. The Barcast's. The last call is currently under way, and if you want to hear my part in the grand interview lightning round, you can tune in at 4:20 Eastern/1:20 Pacific (about an hour from this posting.)

Yes, 4:20 on 4/20. No, I do not partake. Sorry to disappoint. :derpytongue2:

    Pest List

Just something I whipped together for fun one day, set to a possibly recognizable tune, all intended in good fun. And hey, given that I derived my Fimfic handle from a misremembered detail of the Mikado, it's only appropriate. :derpytongue2:

Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 9, Pt. 1

Goodness, it’s been almost two years since I last checked in on Trailblazer’s adventures. IDW putting out comics almost as quickly as I could review them will do that, especially given all of the G5 video media coming out concurrently.

    Conflicted Crossroads

I have an interesting dilemma with an upcoming story, and thus I turn to the Fimfic public (or that portion of it that sees these blogs) for its wisdom.

Friendship is Card Games: The Best Night Ever · 4:24pm Nov 2nd, 2014

Yesterday, Obselescence gathered worshipers at Mashnod's Altar. Today, I make cards from the episode where dreams go to die. I'm not saying these two events are at all related, but I will say that Button Mash's beanie propeller is powered by misery and the tears of infants.

Okay, so horses are definitely a thing that is distinct from ponies. I know, I know, we have Saddle Arabians, but Twilight seems to be treating the transmuted mice as draft animals and little more. Maybe I'm misreading it, but it certainly explains the others' discomfort at the results. (Well, that, and the horse-mice are just plain creepy.)

Huh. We actually see Rarity putting in her false eyelashes. And here I thought "MMMMystery on the Friendship Express" pulled that one out of thin air.

Celestia has a golden apple tree? As in the golden apples of the Hesperides, or Idunn? Or is it a leftover from Discord's days?

This is only the second time I've seen this episode. It's actually almost painful to see those early moments of hope when I know precisely how each and every member of the Mane Six is going to be horribly disappointed.

Derpy is at the Gala. I'm going to have to see what I can do with this information.

Allow me to begin by saying that I love stories that make good use of Prince Blueblood. That being said, note that he introduces himself to Rarity. Sure, he may have noticed her hovering in his vicinity, but he still approached her prior to behaving like… well, him.

I can't promise these will be the best cards ever, but I am sharing them with friends:

Screeching Halt W
Instant
Remove target attacking creature from combat.
"Inertia. Who needs it?"

A certain level of decorum and restraint is expected at the Gala. Pinkie thought it was a maximum rather than a minimum.

-Gamer Fuel advertisement

"Horses from other planes just look weird. I'd forgotten how much so until now. Thanks, Twilight."
—Ditzy Doo

Leotau! ^_^

Inexcusable Excess seems really trolly near the end of the game. Your opponent is down to, say, 3 life, and both of your fields are empty of anything that could deal damage. He plays 2 creatures, you immediately play Inexcusable Excess. GG, skrub.

Unquenchable Rage just sounds awkward. Is it supposed to force a creature to attack, even if it has Defender, Pacifism, or the like? But it doesn't give haste, and it still can't attack while tapped?

What if a blue blood legendary could soul bond to an opponents creature and give a negative effect?

2569857
Hey, she convinced them to play along somehow.
"Remember that time I covered for you when you ate that whole batch of rock cakes? Play the Pony Pokey."

2569957
During the Gamers' War, energy drinks were also known as "Mashnod's Transmogrant."

And at least leotau don't have horse faces.

2570111
Sure, but you could do the same thing with a Lightning Bolt or Bump in the Night without any setup at all.

2570467
Yeah, it's basically an Incite that bypasses anything on the creature that says it can't attack, from defender to Auras to serpent abilities (i.e. big blue creatures that can only attack if certain conditions are met, usually the defending player controlling an Island.)
It's based on Flutterrage. Every version of Fluttershy I've made has defender, so it takes this kind of magic to get her riled up.

2571429
Well, it couldn't be soulbond itself. That explicitly says that the creatures are paired for as long as you control both of them. A similar effect could be used, but I figured the best way to commemorate Blueblood was him putting you in harm's way.

2571458 Eh, flavor.
