Disaster Week - Possible Delay On Next Chapter · 7:37pm Oct 31st, 2014
As followers of mine will already know, I had a bit of a disaster on Wednesday. My computer crashed in a spectacular fashion and when I rebooted it, a stupid amount of my files were corrupted - including an entire ready-to-upload Collapse, Collide chapter and, most crucially for readers of this blog post, my unfinished final draft of the next Guilty Hornet chapter.
I've been working double-time these past few days to get the Collapse' chapter done before too long, but of course that means 'Hornet took a back seat. I think I'll have the Collapse' chapter done and uploaded today, which gives me tomorrow and Sunday to rewrite the next Guilty Hornet chapter.
Thing is, two days might not be enough for me to write and edit 5-7K words of chapter - especially to a standard I can be proud of - so be prepared for some delays. It may turn out that two days is more than enough and you'll get your chapter on schedule, or it might take me until mid-week to finish work.
I just don't know: I go through phases of writing really quickly and slowly, and I still haven't figured out how that whole balancing act works, and to add another spanner to the rather spanner-clogged works my weekends are the most unpredictable part of my week. If it's a calm weekend, a Sunday update is more than possible, but if it's like several I've had recently, I might not get to write at all.
I'll update you when I've got more of the chapter together; I'm just lucky my rather extensive plan was left untouched, otherwise I'd be in a whole new world of trouble. Back to work, I suppose.
