The story is kind of the apology, but it is still good to say it.
To those who followed me for my stories One Last Game and Pangur Ban, I am sorry that I have taken away a story you likely enjoyed. It was done in the midst of severe depression that I am still not fully out of, but I am still cognizant enough now to know how great of a mistake that was.
It would be impossible to rewrite those stories, as I have deleted them from my personal library as well, but I did come up with a new solution.
As I cannot dedicate myself to rewriting/continuing long stories such as Pangur Ban, with their minimal reader database and usually full of my complaints than praise, I decided to hit a middle ground. I wrote a new story that is completely independent of the two, but caries many of the the same themes.
Also, it stares the favorite character of One Last Game.
That is Karl, he is back, and I hope that it will be written to the degree and speed to which will constitute a successfully apology. Even if you are not a fan of the stories I deleted, I hope you can at least give this a chance.

Its possible someone has the stories saved on their computer as an HTML or epub. Maybe you can get them back yet. I'm not at home currently, but I'll check if I have pangur ban on my laptop later tonight.
My idea is pretty stupid and not my place to suggest but why not summerize the first parts of books 1 & 2 then continue on from the recent cliffhanger if ya find the dedication and spirit again?
On the topic though, yay! A Karl story for the first time ever on this site!

Now for this new story, I'm totally looking forward to read it! Karl and Law of Talos are 2 of the best things to ever exist and I just LOVE his character and the way you wrote him in OLG 2.
Dammit, I actually had all the chapters of Pangur Ban saved but the files seemed to have disappeared save chapters 1-4 and 14-15.
Would really like to know if anyone has the rest, or even more than this

Oh hey btw you should probably/maybe/possibly add the actual info about Karl such as the videos and maybe the info about the entire Law of Talos tournament on the description of the story, y'know... just in case someone who doesn't know him happens to stumble upon it.

As for this story, I'll check it out. I'm still a bit sad I don't have an Aisling Fimfiction any longer, but I understand. And besides, I can love Karl :).
Well now I guess I get to feel like a dick for snapping, It's a bitch that they're gone but depression is a bigger one. So yea... sorry, man.

I have most stories that were deleted since the first release of Fimfarchive. I can't say what happened to individual authors, but this kind of thing is very common on Fimfiction. It is one of the reasons why I created the archive in the first place. Though, the main reason was as a backup in case Fimfiction ever closes. Fimfiction became a big part of my life, so I wanted to avoid losing all the stories in case something ever happened to the website.

The new ‘book shelves’ update made me paranoid about stories diapering. When It came out, I went back to organize some of my faves and found that a load of them had suddenly just vanished. Now I have a copy of every story in every bookshelf on a HDD, which I update every time the story is updated. I just wish the site would give you a notification when a story you follow is deleted. It’s just nice being kept in the loop, you know? It beats being left with nothing but a vague memory and feeling of longing.

In the future, I may do another story with her, but it will be far shorter and delve into the mythology as much.
Part of the reason why I sacrificed them was because I kept getting numerous complaints that it was becoming over complicated and deviated away from the original theme. When I realized I was still dozens of chapters away from finishing, and my editors complaining as well, I just... lost it.
