    How long has it been?

I don't even recall the last time I dusted off this profile. It's been a while. I came on today after cleaning out my email to see if I was still getting notifications from this site. To see that they're still people who are reading my work is heartwarming.

Xenonauts Beta V1.5 · 7:06pm Oct 26th, 2014

So I signed up for the experimental "beta" you could say two nights ago for Xenonauts.

Some people who play this game maybe confused because you all thought Xenonauts was "released" meaning it was done, no more updates, etc.

Well it was, and I gotta say not many people were to pleased about that.

Hear are the reasons:

Line of sight was fucked up to Hell.

For example: A xenonaut is standing behind a waist high fence across from him about ten tiles away is a Sebillian he cannot see, but it can see and it kills your soldier.

Also the A.I. was dumb as fuck, even for easy/normal mode the A.I. would make the stupidest of decisions.

And finally the game riddled to Hell with bugs.

At first GoldHawk Interactive (developers) refused to approach these mistakes claiming that there was nothing wrong with the game. Which really pissed off the fans, it literally took a video/screen shots to convince the developers that their game was not finished.

Personally I've never really had too many problems with the game, the only actually error I've encountered would be the line sight bug, a few times though I have stumbled upon dumb A.I.

But anywho despite those mistakes, I've decided to sign up anyways and JUDAS PRIEST the game is ten times better. Like I said I haven't encountered too many of the previous bugs, but then again. I learned that I was just use to them, and finally being able to sit down and play a game where all those mistakes are gone. Is quite refreshing.
D

Don't know why I'm sharing this with you all, I was just in the mood to type something up before going to cut my back grass. Procrastination honestly.

Shame that such a spiritual sequel of sorts was riddled so with crappy bugs and well, i guess the devs being or well sounding like elitist arseholes.. Doesn't do much, but hope its a blast.

2556362 With the changes they mode so far in the Experimental branch it's made the game a lot better and actually fun to play at times. But due to it being "experimental" there are still a few bugs, and I'm glad the people who made the videos/screenshots finally convinced the Devs to sit down and fix it.

2556463 I love the whole xcom series, and xenonauts really aimed for that early xcom, but if the devs dont listen until you hit them over the head with it, it just, well. As much as sometimes the Overkill team gets flack for a few things, they really show as a team that listens to the fans. But I hope it gets fixed for all, and then to grab and enjoy.

2556469 I completely agree with you; just because the devs are assholes though doesn't mean I won't play their game. Hell I already contributed to their cause, might as well play it. But at least their finally getting their shit together.

2556487 And hopefully they will be more receptive to their fans, because they will find anything you miss, but enjoy, and send the alien scourge packing!
