So about Today · 1:20am Oct 23rd, 2014
So I'm going to be a typical women and tell you about how my day went.
Today I went with my mother to go to a yearly eye exam. Nothing unusual just the both of us waiting in a McDonalds in the office building for the appointment. My mother was having troubles with her online banking and since I had my laptop I helped her. After, I finally decided to set up a Twitter account for my followers to follow me on. Before you ask, no, FimFiction isn't the only Fanfiction/other site I'm subscribed to. So I set that up. Another thing about today, it was the first day ever that I forgot my charger and simultaneously I overstepped my phone's data. So I disconnect from the internet and had some chatty time with my mother.
One hour later. I was sitting in the doctors office not paying attention to anything really when someone gasped. I looked up to the small 1990's TV in the office to see a broadcast of the first successful terror attack in Canada's Parliament Buildings, ever.
Two gun men had been firing rifles, and two soldiers acting as guards were shot. Currently one is still in the hospital while the other is dead. The second guy as of what I know is still on the loose.
I could go on a rant about how even though Canada is helping with airstrikes, our Fighter Jets turn around when there is a possibility of civilian death. I could shout about how we always push for peacekeeping missions and hate direct warfare. I could point out how open we to refugees of the Middle East. How much aid we gave and continue to give the civilians there. How we strive to remind others and ourselves that not all Arabs are Terrorists, and how we shouldn't pre-judge people because what we see on the TV is just a small sample of a much larger population.
There is so much I could say, but right now I'm tired. The Prime Minister is quoting Obama, the members of Parliament are pushing for swift violence, and everyone else is crying for blood.
And right now, at this moment, I can't say I'm not with them.
*Edit
After cooling my head and thinking things through. I want to re-state that I know not all Arabs/Muslims are Terrorist. I just want the Canadian government to do something about the people that they think may be Terrorists instead of waiting/telling them that they are suspected to be radicalized. Also, retaliation I still want that.
