Hello! and some notes on Red Wings. · 1:18am Jun 19th, 2012
Hello FIMFiction! I'm Props, and soon enough my first story, Red Wings, will be published to the site. I'm a student in California, and my major is English, with an emphasis towards teaching. I enjoy writing, reading, editing, Team Fortress 2, and ponies. I do some editing on Ponychan (posting as 'Props'), and generally lurk around the edges of the fandom, enjoying the community and reading a lot of fiction.
My first story, Red Wings, is a side story for End of Ponies, a wonderful tale of dark adventure in post-apocalyptic Equestria, written by the talented Short Skirts and Explosions. This is my first foray into fan fiction, and my first My Little Pony story, though not my first time to the rodeo when it comes to writing. Before anyone asks - yes, Short Skirts and Explosions gave me permission to write this story, and he has been working closely with me on making sure my writing doesn't conflict with any canon established for End of Ponies.
Now, on to a few important things: thank you's.
First thank you goes to TheBrianJ, who's story Smiling Flowers I cannot recommend enough. He helped me work through this story, editing and picking out places where pacing needed to be shored up or dialogue could be spiced up. Thanks so much!
Second, to RazgrizS57, the author of Finding Your Elements, among other stories. Raz worked through my story several times, giving me awesome feedback along the way and spotting technical errors that I'd have never caught. Thank you, sir!
Finally, to shortskirtsandexplosions, author of End of Ponies and Background Pony, among others. Skirts created this insane world in End of Ponies, and then was generous enough to let me play around in it. On top of that, he offered invaluable feedback and made certain that my story's work wouldn't interfere or otherwise cause issue with the canon of End of Ponies - going so far as to let me name Gilliam's flying carrier ship from Chapter 1 of End of Ponies.
