[Mini-rant] Finally Reading this Beast

So The Immortal Game has been in my Read Later list for about a year and a half. I finally decided to crack it open last week when waiting for laundry to finish. And I basically haven't put it down since.

Now, I'm not yet finished with the tale (apparently I have three chapters left), but holy crap is this thing good. No wonder I was asked about it alongside FoE and Past Sins - this is exemplary stuff! The one thing I love the most, more than any of the graphic battle scenes (my inner sadist cheers for those!), is how every plot device, no matter how minuscule, has been expanded upon and made to work with the narrative. Even events way back in the past, before Celestia's reign, are brought up and worked in seamlessly. It's beautiful!

As it stands, I've finished with the setup and first contact of the "final battle" - or what I'm hoping is the final battle. There are a few questions I have left about the story, but so far the story itself has done a great job of addressing my questions in time. I'm willing to put faith in the author (AestheticB you beautiful monster!) that my remaining questions will have answers by the end.

Pretty much the only question I have not seen answered is why the hell I waited SO LONG to read this wonderful beast.
