Surprise.

(I was, Along with thankful.)

The magnifying glass is a great touch.

Echo-posted to that story's Comments section.

ETA: I did tag this for Mechanical Aptitude. I think it's something in the prequel/sequel code.

Love the manipulators. And the fact that this exists.

Pretty mare, even if she doesn't think so.

That is pretty darn neat :)

Ok I can see how that in motion might disturb a pony with no frame of reference for what she's seeing. Poor Roseluck.

I feel like an incredible master of timing for handing this over directly after Estee's previous blog post topic.

Thanks for the kind words, all, and keep being awesome, Estee.

Kind of dark, could use more contrast. I do feel like that doesn't quite capture the intricacy of the mechanism, but that's an interesting take (sort of a swiss army knife/multi-tool going on there) and it's sort of recognizable.

Yeah, that's a common problem any time I try to paint anything. I probably need to spend some time digging up some tutorials by people who, unlike me, actually know what they're doing when it comes to colour.

I was originally picturing a Bane-like device with dozens of metal spidery legs coming off the front, which, way more entertaining, but it wound up being kinda beyond my skill level. Unfortunate because:

Three simply fainted and did so every time, believing that to be the practical reaction to seeing somepony who appeared to have a giant steel spider eating her face.

...is one of my favourite lines from the story. But oh well, can't win 'em all. If interrogated, I'll just pretend this is an early prototype of the monster the tool would wind up being.

Thanks for the critique!

That is an amazingly impressive piece of art. Congratulations elementAggregator.

It is a wonderful study of Rachette. Estee, you must be very proud.

Neat! Fan art is always great to have.

Also, her mandibular manipulator machinery looks like it should make these *sproing* noises! :pinkiehappy:

If you're looking for additional critique, the ears are a bit on the large side. :scootangel: Unless I missed that part of her description as a pony... :unsuresweetie:

It's better than I could have done and I'd have to work in a physical medium. I mean, I have a tablet, but I'm not real good with it (read: need a lot more practice).

Based on that link, I think that's close to the right idea. Just more like a spider and less like a like a pair of hands pulling the mouth open.

So at a guess, you would prefer it if I stopped reading your current Princess Maud story immediately, correct? Just to keep things from being contaminated with the horror?

Oh, well. Someone will tell me how it came out.

Now, at a secondary guess, since anyone who reads my work would clearly be someone you would never want associating with you in any way, you would obviously prefer it if --

-- no, probably not.
