I used Chris Heron's wonderful song "Shooting For the Stars" for my first reading, and I rather think I'll end up using it for at least my next few as well. As much as I'd like to add a little variety, it just works too damn well for the particular stories I have in mind.
Not knowing the protocol for this sort of thing, I emailed Chris Heron just before I started recording and asked his permission to use his music for my readings. Within the hour, he responded with his blessing. It was only after the fact that I realized that he had already given permission to use his music to everyone, carte blanche, right there in the video description. It was super-nice of him to email me back with his explicit permission, especially since I'm an idiot who can't be bothered to read a video's description. This is why I love this fandom so much. You're all like that. You're all super-nice, and an incredible number of you are incredibly talented.
I finished recording the lines for Where Have The Stars Gone, and HoofBitingActionOverload has given me the go-ahead, so all that's left is to edit it all together. Unfortunately, since I decided to do the recording in Garageband instead of Audacity, I won't be able to edit on my Windows laptop on my lunch break or on the train, but hopefully I'll be able to get that out in a few days.
