There Can Be Only One....blog post

Well here it is, my first ever blog post. It shall not be very long but I am certain that my legions of followers (you two guys, still don't know why you follow me but no matter) will disseminate my vision across the site and rain fire upon those who oppose it.

The topic of which I am writing is a very common one on this here holy land, that of the state of the Favourites page with respect to the amount of smut that is published on it. The ease with which pornography makes it to favourite page is a problem in that many users of the site, myself included, do want to read stories dealing with mature topics, and indeed ones that involve sex, but not clop that rapidly gains upvotes and potentially pushes other stories off the favourites page. On a less objective level I also find it a bit unsightly.

There already is a system in place to prevent users of the sight from seeing stories with mostly sexual content, one can stop the display of stories with the "mature". But this is a blanket system that prevent the display of non-pornographic but still mature stories. So far the solution to this has been the requirement of increased effort on the user side, by having to find specific authors and using groups, to find new stories and a rather lacking response from the staff (I am not aware of any addressing of the issue, if someone reading this knows of such an announcement please comment with a link).

This does slightly perplex me as I feel that an easy solution is at hand, the adding of a "clop" tag into the pool of tags already available. I would guess that most authors of clopfics know that they are writing a clopfic and would not object to adding this tag. This would allow the browsing of up and coming stories ,that are not clop but do involve sex, through the browsing menu. There could even be another 'switch' such as is already in place for mature, that would allow the non-display of clopfics (but I feel that this might be slightly harder to implement).
