Sundown Companion: Chapter 4 · 6:38pm Oct 9th, 2014
Hello Everyone! This chapter took a bit longer to get out, but with good reason! I have an editor and a proofer now! devas has been very patient with my grammar, spelling, and word use atrocities. Thanks also to 00RaiserGundam for looking over it in a very rough state for me.
I would also like to once again that you all for the positive encouragement. I may not feel like I deserve it, but I am very thankful for it regardless.
Also, the companions for now are still just my first drafts unedited, so prepare for bleeding eyes.
Sunset's Dreams are getting odd aren't they?
School is a complicated beast of emotions. High School is the same beast with hormones. Tempers run high and judgement is everywhere. Sunset was used to being confidently on top, but now is lain low by her poor decisions. Entering school immediately after a social disaster is difficult. Returning after a week long absence is a testament of willpower.
However, even a neutral party is a balm on the nerves. Bulk Biceps, (yes that's who that is) not being another aggressor to Sunset allowed her to calm down and have some relative peace. Which is quickly dashed by having the stress of Twilight Sparkle taking a distinctive interest in her. Feeling the way Sunset was, even positive interest is quite stressful. So, Sunset does the sort of action she feels is easiest. She ignores it, and hopes it will go away.
Lunchtime was similarly stressful, as she was quickly confronted by the mane 6 (minus twilight) and they want to 'talk.' Then things go to even more craziness when Twilight makes another appearance. Luckily for Sunset it was a very convenient excuse not to talk about her... which back fires as she has to talk about herself in order to explain why everyone already knew Twilight's name.
As more and more of her crimes come out Sunset feels worse and worse about herself, and panics. Running away from problems is not facing them of course, but you can find support in the oddest of places. Stand Sentinel has a different depression, where Sunset despises herself completely. Stand feels useless, but he overcame it by learning that life is about compromise sometimes.
your story is well thought out and is very informative. Also You have turned my attention towards Sunset as a character. I simply dismissed her as another villain. Then I found your story by random (Fate?) one day while searching for stories to read. Now I know about her struggle find redemption which makes for awesome story telling if done correctly. You are doing a great job so far. I love your blog explaining each chapter as well. I look forward to your next chapter with great enthusiasm.
yes i have to fully agree you are doing a wonderful job and absolutely can not wait to see the next exciting chapter on this really good series. it would be nice to see those that destroyed her locker get punished for it and for sunset to be able to work past all this once she is able to get the mental help that she clearly needs. other than that this is a really well written piece of art work.
3681206 eheh, I hope when I next can write that I live up to the high standard I seem to have made for myself. Thanks for the flattering comments though.
