Poll: Who is Death Note: Equestria's villain? · 11:26pm Oct 6th, 2014

I've been having a rough week, so I thought I'd stop and throw out something simple. (Also a reassurance that DN:E is not cancelled; I'm just taking a break to finish my shorter stories before devoting 100% of my designated fanfic time to it.)

We're now a couple of chapters into DN:E's third season, and already things are moving well off the established rails. I've stated already that Shears and Shells will not be Twilight's primary antagonists for the rest of the story; they instead serve as another obstacle leading up to something greater. Based on what you've read so far, who do you, the reader, believe is the true villain (other than Twilight herself) of Death Note: Equestria? (I guess this also serves as a "who do you want to see more of" poll.)

Options: (Warning: Do not trust the options. The options LIE.)

1. Colgate
2. Rainbow Dash
3. Citrus Green
4. Wysteria
5. Warm Quilt and Inferno
6. Kaidan, Asphodel, and Burning Bridge
7. The Dollmaker
8. Echo Pie
9. Winona
10. or someone completely different? Am I just pulling your legs?

Happy guessing!

hmm yought call but since I havnt seen any new chapters latly me memory is a bit fuzzy so can I have a bit of a reminder who
Citrus Green
Wysteria
Warm Quilt and Inferno
Kaidan, Asphodel, and Burning Bridge
and Shears and Shells are

Isn't it obvious? it's clearly Winona :trollestia:

(in all seriousness though, I have no clue. I'm gonna say the Dollmaker because whoever is making those golems is clearly up to something, but's he's only ever actually appeared in one scene and (seemingly) hasn't done anything since.)

2512665
Citrus Green: Mysterious pony whose name was spelled out in fireworks. Implied by Colgate to be quite dastardly.
Wysteria: Sentient abacus, sister to Minty
Warm Quilt and Inferno: Shears and Shells' handlers from Eighth
Kaidan, Asphodel, and Burning Bridge: A team of elite investigators from Second
Shears and Shells: L's official replacements, of dubious mental ability

I'm going to say either Wysteria or the Dollmaker. Those who work behind the shadows truly are not to be trusted. And thus, I called myself a hypocrite.

The real villain would be you, of course, for putting the ponies through all this crap by writing this story. :trollestia:

2512743 ooh a twist

Sharp Star.

Really, the only reason this whole plot has started is because of banal villains like that, completely out of place in "normal" Equestria, but distressingly common in this one. Without their influence, the whole thing would have ended with a single fatal accident at worst.

2512717 normally I would say citras but that MUST BE AN ALIAS for someone and their right to think those in the shadows cannot be trusted my best guess is 10 someone else or someone unknown it could be the real person behind the citrus green alias or the one who se of the fireworks ect

if im wrong I wont be surprised deathnote cept me guessing and you stay true to the original death note perfectly

I'd say Warm Quilt and Inferno. They practically breed the most intellectual minds in their institution. :trixieshiftleft:

Isn't it obvious?

Nonagon is the true villain.

I'm going with pinkie pie. Mainly because I have no clue why she was concerned about her body to the point that echo pie worries about it.

I wanna see more of Rainbow Dash. I just feel that Rainbow Dash is the most untarnished of the main six, as it were. I'm really enjoying her naivety and comedic role in the story. I'd love to see more of what she does. I mean she's lost almost all of her closest friends now.

Edit: and more Spike, actually. Now that I come to think about it, we don't see enough of the relationship that he and Twilight share. They're really close in the show, and I enjoy seeing fanfiction explore that further.

As for the villain? Hmm…

I think it's gonna be Luna staging another coup. :pinkiehappy: Using Death Gods and Death Notes! :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Honestly, I'd have no idea. :rainbowlaugh: I'm just enjoying this story for its awesome characterization and never-ending mystery.

It's Sunny Days. Has to be. Unless she's who I think she is. Then I have no clue.:trollestia:

everyone and everything. including that one character we haven't met yet that will break every rule.

(if you recall i still think this is some machination from the lord of the shinigami himself)

2512665 I wanna know about these ponies, too.

Anyway, as much as I hate to say this, I think maybe Flash Sentry could be the villain.

Or Suri Polomare, or Lightning Dust, or Tirek.

Colgate, though I will more call her the heroic antagonist to Twilight's villain protagonist.

I see her as the Hank Schrader to Twilight's Walter White, maybe not the BIG BAD, but the person who we want to see bring down the monster our hero has become. :moustache:

I guess in this analogy Spike is Jesse Pinkman.

I believe Spike is going to come back with a vengeance later in the story. Twilight can't keep him in the dark forever, and I believe in Spike's innocence. A passionate dragon who's been suppressed far too long? Good luck to anyone who betrays that. :moustache:

2514296 Citrus green could be an alias for flash non can say for certain.....yet

Would it be wrong if we got a few chapters of Twilight just... trying to solve crime? And some dumb crooks somehow outsmarting her?

Idk, a comedy break would be interesting I think. :trollestia:

2514329

I like this analogy, and I'll add to it that Dollmaker is the Gustavo Fring of this scenario.

2514605 perhaps an april fools' chapter?

LolWinona.

I think Warm Quilt and Inferno are two. Citrus Green is a red herring, inasmuch as he's not a true villain (if he's one at all).

Colgate can't be. But she'll probably be the one who stands amongst the ashes when this is over.

However, WQ and Inferno aren't the true villains. Just two we can put faces to. One or they other may be the ones who make L, but until we know otherwise I'm going to say there's still someone out there.

Also, I don't really call Twilight a villain in the story anymore. Not that she isn't one--she literally cannot be anything other than some degree of villain at this point--but that it's slightly wrong to say she truly is.
