Greater Mazdana

-Ashura Mazda, genderless (though occasionally, and incorrectly, referred to as male): Representative of Order and Light. Along with Mainyu, is one of the Uncreated spirits. Zoroaster is derived from Mazda, as are the Spenta (“benevolent” spirits). Mazda’s role is that of a creator. Is generally known for representing “good”.

-Zoroaster, male: Derived from Mazda with minor influence of the Outer Realm (rendering him “impure”). Served as Mazda’s direct link with the Outer Realms. Was responsible for the defeat of Mainyu during the Dawn War.

-Lucifer “the Light Bearer”, male: Former servant of Ba’al Hadad, King of Elohim, who betrayed the Elohim to serve Mazda after encountering Zoroaster. He was rewarded for his service by being raised to become the first of the New Elohim. Lucifer was the most powerful of the Mazdana, stronger even than Zoroaster due to Mazda’s interference. Lucifer attempted to kill all the Old Elohim, but Mazda stopped him to raise Titania, Gaea, and Ouranos to the New Elohim, while also allowing several other Old Elohim to escape. Was the first of the New Elohim to be sundered into the Children of Light (and the Bastards of Light) when he tried to overthrow Mazda.

-Titania, female: Former servant of Sydyk who was rescued by Mazda after her master’s death to serve as a counter to Lucifer’s growing power. Regarded as the second most powerful of the New Elohim, she was sundered after her defeat of Ahriman during the Dawn War into the sisters Celestia and Luna.

-Gaea, female: Former servant of Dagon who was rescued by Mazda as a counter to Lucifer. Aided Titania and Ouranos in overthrowing Ahriman. Sundered into Chiron and Goliath.

-Ouranos, male: Former servant of Shamayim who was rescued by Mazda as a counter to Lucifer. Aided Titania and Gaea in overthrowing Ahriman. Sundered into Aquila and Borealis, who hated each other.

Lesser Mazdana

Children of Light

-Baphomet, male: The King of the Light, Baphomet represented Wrath. Was the most powerful of the Children along with Metatron. Tricked by Iblis into being absorbed into Melek Taus.

-Metatron, male: The Prince of the Light, Metatron was Baphomet’s twin and represented Patience. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Michael, male: Represented Diligence. Absorbed by Iblis.

-Lucifuge, female: Represented Greed. Absorbed by Iblis.

-Azazel, male: Represented Sloth. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Gabriel, male: Represented Charity. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Set, male: Represented Gluttony. Absorbed by Iblis.

-Raphael, male: Represented Temperance. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Abraxas, female: Represented Lust. Absorbed by Iblis.

-Casimir, male: Represented Chastity. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Toyol, male: Represented Envy. Absorbed by Iblis.

-Uriel, male: Represented Compassion. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Zephon, female: Represented Humility. Absorbed by Baphomet.

-Iblis, male: Represented Pride. Along with Baphomet, tricked the others into being absorbed. Betrayed and absorbed Baphomet during the battle with Mainyu, thus becoming the driving force behind Melek Taus.

-Daemon and Lillith, male and female: The bastards of light, the twins represented no specific virtue or vice but were the incarnation of Lucifer’s Deceit and Malice. Hate the Children of Light.

Demigods

-Celestia, female: Elder daughter of Titania, and representative of the sun. Slept for centuries prior to the Windigo Crisis.

-Luna, female: Younger daughter of Titania, and representative of the moon. Slept for centuries prior to the Windigo Crisis.

-Chiron, male: Older son of Gaea. Left the known lands to wander. Known to have sired Tirek and Scorpan.

-Goliath the Elder, male: Younger son of Gaea. Founded Tarsos, but was nearly killed by Borealis using Mazda’s Sword. Forced to reincarnate as Goliath the Younger.

-Goliath the Younger, male: Reincarnation of Goliath. Is currently an infant residing in New Tarsos.

-Aquila, female: Elder daughter of Ouranos. Hated her younger brother Borealis. Leader of the Griffin states and lover of war. Was present during the Destruction of Tarsos, during which her daughters were kill by Melek Taus.

-Borealis, male: Younger son of Ouranos. Hated his elder sister Aquila. Created the Changeling race as a prototype for his later creation, the windigos. Was abducted and tortured by Daemon, which drove him insane. Attempted to kill Goliath with Mazda’s Sword (but failed to truly destroy him) before being banished to the Void by Aquila and Melek Taus.

Mazdana-kin

-Tirek and Scorpan, males: Sired by Chiron, making them a minor relation to the Mazdanic family.

-Aquila’s daughters, females: Killed during the Destruction of Tarsos.

-The Light-Born, males and females: Children of Melek Taus, play central roles in Saddle Arabian mythology as either heroes or villains. Represent whichever personality was dominant with Taus at the time (lust tends to have more than its fair share).

Greater Mainyua

-Angra Mainyu, genderless: The counterpart to Ashura Mazda, representing Darkness and Chaos. Serves as a destroyer. Resided in his own realm, the Void of Mainyu, before attempting to usurp Mazda’s role in the Outer Realm. Banished by Melek Taus and Zoroaster during the Dawn War, remnants of his presence on Equus were harnessed by King Sombra during his reign. Split Discord off from Ahriman.

-Ahriman, male: Created by Mainyu from the Old Elohim Lotan, Ahriman is the embodiment of Destruction and is regarded as more powerful than Zoroaster. It took the combined power of Titania, Gaea, and Ouranos with Mazda’s Sword to supposedly banish Ahriman to the Void. Before that, Discord was sundered from him. Ahriman managed to maintain a slight hold on the world, similar to Mainyu, by leaving a slight stain in the Forge of Order. Discord would later allow the stain to incubate in him as its host, before it moved on to other beings. Currently possessing Melek Kul, Ahriman appears as a winged serpent.

Lesser Mainyua

-Discord, male (though capable of changing gender): A part of Ahriman representing pure Chaos. Allowed Ahriman to use him as a host, which facilitated his return, then transported Melek Kul to the site of the Mazdanic Civil War; the power of the battle allowed Ahriman to take control of Melek Kul.

-Melek Kul, male: The current vessel of Ahriman.

-Ba’al Hadad, male: God of Storm, and King of Elohim. Lucifer was his lieutenant. Killed by Lucifer during the War for Light.

-Shamayim, female: Goddess of Sky, and sister to Ba’al Hadad. Ouranos was her servant. Killed by Lucifer during the War for Light.
