Rainbow Rocks TV premiere BEFORE VIDEO RELEASE! · 4:55pm Sep 29th, 2014

The Hub Network has announced that the premiere of Rainbow Rocks will be October 17, eleven days before the home video release.

So those of you who have the Hub, can't make it to a theater before then, and want to see it before it comes out on DVD and BD...make a note of it.

I would watch it, but I don't know if I'd get the full version. Some scenes might get cut due to time constraints. It happened with the first film, despite Hasbro's claim that it was made for television.

2493641 It's pretty much a guarantee that the'll cut parts out for the TV release. My guess is that Hasbro is rushing the TV release before they they rebrand the station.

2493641 If it's a movie and it airs on the Hub, expect it to get cut. Even if it's made by their own people and it's a movie of their own show. That's just how they roll. But it'll be good to see the bulk of the movie before getting the full thing on BluRay and all the juicy extras.

2493678 Rebrand? First I've heard of this. :rainbowderp:

Essentially, since the Hub wasn't a massive success, Hasbro is backing out of it. That means Discovery will own most of it, and can do what they want with the channel. Hasbro still has a morning slot on the network though.

2493722 I think Hasbro gave up on The Hub too quickly, and without trying to market it properly. The Hub couldn't compete with the major networks, because it wasn't carried by a lot of cable packages, and it wasn't an international channel. There are several areas that Hasbro could've chosen to launch a Hub branch in, such as Western Europe. And they could've easily done so with the amount of money they've been making.

Already saw a pirate of it. Poor quality, but watchable in my opinion.

By the way, didn't you say you'll have that avatar up until the movie, or what did you say?

2493722 I just finished doing some reading up on it myself. Hasbro isn't "backing out", they've just sold their majority shares and still own 40% of what's going to be Discovery Family beginning in 2 weeks. Hasbro programming will continue to be the bulk of the daytime programming on the rebranded channel, so MLP isn't in danger or anything and TF:RiD will still be going ahead as planned...but it's very probable that by 2016, LPS and MLP will be moving to Netflix permanently.

2493733 Until it's out or until I get tired of it. Odds are I'll change it around Halloween to something Halloweeny, then change it back to my original avatar in November.

2493769 There is also the option of other networks buying the rights to Habro programming. Hopefully Nick or Cartoon Network. God forbid Disney Channel/XD.

2493790 There is like, zero chance of Cartoon Network buying up Hasbro properties, and we DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN in any case. Or Nick. It'd be a lot better off if Disney had them, because Disney XD doesn't completely screw its shows like the other two do.

To date, I have yet to see Disney XD cancel or hide a single program they've aired. Pac-Man? Going strong. Phineas and Ferb after moving to Disney XD? Going strong. Gravity Falls? Going stronger than it ever was on Disney Channel. Wander Over Yonder? 7D? Going strong. All that primetime live action shit that who really watches it? Going strong. Doraemon? Doing VERY well.

Now, let's look at Nick.

Remember The Legend of Korra? Remember when they started running Book Three on Fridays, and then inexplicably moved it to streaming-only before deciding a month or so later to shunt it over to Nicktoons? All without any warning?

Notice how they can't decide whether TMNT's time slot is Sunday morning or Friday night?

Notice how they cancelled Monsters Vs. Aliens, a really good and clever show, because it wasn't (in their opinion) as "solid" as Sanjay and Craig?

And then there's Cartoon Network. Which picks up shows it never intends to see through, invents flimsy excuses to get rid of them, shuffles them to odd timeslots without bothering to promote it, then cancels them due to "underperforming ratings" despite having literally made it impossible for people to know when to watch. And even the shows that get good ratings that they just don't want to run anymore, they kill without warning. Like they did Beware the Batman.

No, MLP is better off on Netflix if it MUST leave Discovery Family. Because Netflix is STABLE.

2493840 I was thinking CN because they aired transformers before Hasbro pulled the plug and moved it to the Hub. Plus some of their other shows have strong followings, so FiM would fit right it.
As for Disney, you make a few good points. I'm still a bit sore about them pulling the plug on Clone Wars. They also cancelled Tron: Uprising, so their record isn't totally clean.

Ah, who am I kidding. I didn't watch any of that stuff.

Got it. Thanks for telling me.

2493944 Yeah...MLP would NOT fit on Cartoon Network, because it's a network with no intention of fostering a female demographic (or peripherary male demographic latching onto a show for girls). CN doesn't do shows for girls. Look at its lineup. There's nothing there that's a Show For Girls.

Chances are that it's taken down already.

Besides, I can't check now, thanks to School Wifi. :raritycry:

2498658 Just so you know, if anyone posts a link to a pirated rip in this comments thread, I'm deleting it. If you MUST share that, do it via PMs.
