I Will Give The Food Industry This

It sucks when drunk/rude customers are involved, or rush periods, but jobs like this have perks.

4:51 - I'm sitting at the front counter, all tasks complete, waiting to clock out at 5:00
4:53 - Server comes to the back of the house (production, grill, food prep, etc).
4:54 - She pours two ladles of pancake batter on the grill to cook. There is not a single customer in the place at this hour. No order for pancakes. I assume she is making them for herself.
4:55 - Server: "Don't mess up my pancakes."
Grill Operator: "Don't mess up my grill."
4:57 - I get said stack of pancakes placed in front of me. They are drizzled with chocolate syrup, sugar, and topped with whip cream.
Me: "Um, what's this?"
Server: "Want'em? I just wanted to make some pretty pancakes."

Four minutes later, I leave the restaurant with a smile on my face and the most delicious pancakes in my belly. Random, silly acts of kindness from awesome people that periodically scream at each other over a 6 hour shift.
