Do any of you guys suffer from lack of motivation? Have you ever decided you wanted to write, only to sit down and stare at a blank screen for five minutes? Do you ever get tired of thinking of really awesome, bad ass scenes? Only to realize that you won't be able to write them till you reach the halfway point of a story.
Well don't fret because you're not alone!

I can't think of anything! I purposely took 2-3 weeks off from writing to focus on school, and to avoid this from happening! To come back fully refreshed and focused and write horse words! But NAAAAOOO! My brain doesn't want to work, throughout this whole week I've only been about to add about 500 words to the latest chapter.
It's probably because it's a relatively boring chapter, (in my opinion) all it is, is talking, exposition, first contact (which is slightly interesting), more talking, more expo. Mainly stuff I've written in the past, badly of course, and I'm now forced to rewrite it. I want to make it interesting, exciting but... I dunno how!
*Rips hair out*

Where's my comedy?! Oh dear, my precious comedy, where do you be? (<I use to write comedies a lot before Lazarus >> check list on the right) At least I have tons of fun writing crack fics... I'm not saying Lazarus isn't "fun" it's just the first story in which I need to actually put a lot of thought into for it to make sense.

I have no idea what to write now... I think I need to start posting other things to distract myself until I can push through this "writers block". I want to write something interesting, something hopefully equally as good as Lazarus. Maybe a one shot! Yeah I might do that, something exciting, like a short war story or even a comedy... I dunno about that. I know I said you don't really need to think much for a comedy, but I need a good premise first. Hmmm...
Lemme develop a list real quick, I want you guys to decide if you'd like to see something.
*five minutes later*
1. A one shot H. V. P. (Human V. Pony) set in the Napoleonic Era (Meaning that humans and ponies are equally matched).
Basic back story: Set on an entirely different planet, humanity (Terrans) controls nearly 85% Percent of the entire planet ruling over the Gryphons, Ponies, Dragons, etc. However all that would begin to change on February 18th a band of ponies under the rule of the self proclaimed "Princess" (as the ponies call her) Celestia attacked Fort Arnold.
Three days after the attack King Herald of the Terrans ordered Major General Myers to put an end to this uprising. What was thought to be a simple task would soon turn into the most bloodiest civil war Mankind along with Ponies would ever see.
The story itself I thought of was something I thought of after watching a Documentary on The Battle for Gettysburg, so yeah. The humans are fighting in the honorable Napolean line tatic style, and all the have are single shot rifles, gatling guns, 12 pounders, and early Howitzers. No tanks, no planes, no nukes, none of that.
Pony weaponry-still at a disadvantage when it comes to ranged. But they do have air superiority (pegasi), brute strength, speed, and of course...
(Cue Mr. Bean)
Yeah I kinda said fuck humanity and gave them a huge disadvantage. But hey! They can't dodge hundreds of bullets flying their way...
Did I forget to mention dragons? Yeah I did, they're in this too.
Okay time for the other stories.
Planet of the Equines: Really do I need to explain this? It's really self-explanatory, but what the hell. Story follows a man, Captain Winters, and his crew who are sent out to explore Alpha Centauri right before the Russians decided to throw a Nuclear Party on Earth that they weren't invited to. Well on their trip to Alpha Centauri the ship was blasted by a solar flare that disrupted the ship's navigation system, due to this failure the ship drifted back to Earth for over 100,000 thousand years. (The crew was in stasis, save for the Captain who woke up every few thousand years for a few days to check on the ship and crew).
Through these years Winters, the only man who seemed to age, started to go a little... bonkers, as time drifted by. Every day he did a log which he would send back to NASA (who's now dead), talking to a friend, who didn't exist named "Doc".
When they returned to Earth... for any of you who had seen Planet of the Apes, or who has ever read Sci-Fi HIE you'll have some what of an idea where this goes.
Third and final story.
Vanishing in the Dark (debating on whether or not I should change it): This one is still in development, it takes place in an Alternate version of Equestria (surprisingly not an HIE), Twilight Sparkle wakes up one morning alone in her castle. Her guards were gone, her friends were gone, traveling outside; the entire town was gone. She was alone, and why does it feel like something in the dark is watching her?

3rd. Dark, thriller, horror, whatever you wanna call it

Go for 2. As for writers block just look at me! Still listening to nightcore and other fan made songs such as theme songs and songs that describe or talk about one character are great. Or you can google pictures of that one character, just some things like "dark" "background" or "steampunk" to it. Honestly I want to write a crystalpunk story so yeah. Or go on a oneshot bing reading them or reread some of your favorite stories. This normally gets me out of any writers block.

It's hard to say really. The Planet of the Equines sounds interesting, but at the same time I'm more worried about your writing block than another story.
When I hit my first block I started another story as well. The problem was that I was more interested in writing the story than finishing the detail. So now that story in on hiatus (though it did get me back into writing my main).
I guess what I'm saying is: Be careful what you sign up for. The Planet of the Equines doesn't really sound like a one shot story. And I'd hate for you to start another story, only to drop it because you want to go back to the original. It's putting more on your plate while setting up expectations from readers (I know the feeling, trust me).
In the end, if it gets you over your writers block, than I'd say go for it. Lazarus has a lot of potential, and I'd hate to see it just end just as things were getting interesting.

However, if you plan to make the humans lose, then I would like the Twilight dark fic.
However, if it turns out to be some shitty, non-dark thing (they all died when she was in stasis, it was all a dream, they're hiding for a birthday party. etc.), then I suppose I must vote for the Planet of the Ponies.

The biggest one I had I mind were these two
A FNV crossover HIE story taking place in an alternate equestrian where BOTH Princess Celestia and Princess Luna went nightmare, Luna becoming Nightmare Moon and Clestia becoming Solar Flare
The tags would be Human, Alternate Universe, Comedy, Crossover and Dark
The second one is an HIE whose MC is from a Fantasy world called Terra, and he end's up in an alternate Equestria where Discord won in season 2 and the world has gone to hell.

2468077 The HVP is supposed to be a story in which the humans and ponies are on equal terms, (Meaning either has an equal chance of getting their shit kicked in) but I don't actually plan on writing the war itself. It's mainly going to cover the aftermath of a large battle in which a human soldier was taken prisoner along with the rest of 38th Terran Line Infantry Regiment, and his final moments on death row.
Planet of the Equines is self explanatory.
The dark Twilight story (so far what I've come up with) is a really dark (as in gory) twisted story, lot's of evil supernatural magic stuff is involved.

2 sounds good but I really hate when everyone goes "hurt durr evil russhns". Also my stories (not on this website) don't get updated because I have a ton of ideas but typing sucks. I want some kind brain to PC interface.

I agree with tallestbrony, the second one looks a lot like Lazarus, and it shouldn't be a one-shot since it is pretty much impossible to describe any good HiE story in one chapter
The Human vs Pony one is just sad... I don't like seeing ponies killing humans. And being a captured soldier before the death penalty is just bucking depressing
The third one on the other hand intrigues me. Gore, mmm... I didn't read anything gory for a long time, so I'll VOTE FOR #3
I hope it ends up as the picked one though right now it seems that you'll have to re-write Lazarus-type story (again).
P.S. As far as I understand this story is supposed to be a break for you, so at the end it is up to you to analyze all arguments and votes of your readers and decide which one YOU want to write the most

The Planet of the Apes one was just something I thought of a while back, if I really wanted to. I could actually tie it into the Lazarus Plot line (a short prequel per say). The HVP one to be honest really intrigues me, even if it doesn't get all the votes I might still right it anyways

The final one with Twilight, that really grabs my own attention. Problem is I'm too good with gore, but I'm not too good with writing spooky scary stuff xD. Also I just realized Halloween is coming up, PERFECT!
