I'm your friendly neighborhood riffer. Except when I'm not. I also write pony words and review them. I hope to serve.

Seasalt Riffs: The Chase, Chapter 1

Let’s get something out right now. Do NOT expect me to get through this entire story. It’s not happening.
    Now then...
A while back a Skype group of mine had a shit-fit over this story, and I was really curious as to why. After putting it off for a while, I finally decided to start.
I have no idea what happens in this story, and I didn’t read the one before it. Not going to either.

So there's a thing coming up.

Yeah, you know how my best friend and I have been riffing a lot lately? Well...what if I told you that riffing in general is a thing that a group of friends of mine are trying to start up again? Cool? Yeah, I thought so. Well, what if I said that YOU can help?

I can already see your minds spinning with ideas.

Seasalt Riffs: Watch The Movie, Sweetie Belle!

So because we haven’t done enough foalcon in these riffs, how about some more!
(Foalcon is just the best, isn’t it friend?)
    I hate humanity.
    (I know twow. I know.)
Today’s story is called Watch The Movie, Sweetie Belle! And I’m not telling who the other character is, it’ll be a surprise.

Seasalt Riffs: An Evening With His Favorite Princess

Ah, foalcon. The closest legal thing to child pornography.
(Foalcon is your favorite thing ever to riff, isn’t it twow?)
Bite me. Either way, today’s story is called An Evening With His Favorite Princess. No points for guessing who it has in it.
(Spoiler alert, it’s Pip and Luna.)
    Prepare your blast shields.

Retire from riffing? · 2:36pm Sep 19th, 2014

I've been thinking about it for a while after the move, and I don't know....

It's not because it's died down, I started when it was slow and I continued after it declined. I guess...I don't know if people really read them anymore. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be all like, "Oh well, I'm so famous everyone should read my shit." Not at all, that would make me an asshole. I just enjoy making stuff that people will read and maybe get a giggle or two out of. I love to make people laugh.

I dunno...I guess if you really like my riffs and you wanna see more, just tell me in the comments. Otherwise, might actually be time to hang up the ole lab coat. Who knows, maybe I'll actually write again.

Thanks, guys. Ya'll are still pretty awesome.

I think it would be a great loss if you'd stopped riffing. Every single one of them made me laugh to tears and inspire me enough to start do it on my own.

They are stories that deserve to be ripped to shreds. And if you entertain readers while doing so, then it's definitely worth it.

My hat off to you if you decide to stop, but I'd be quite sad to do so. At least for me.

Do what makes you happy, Twow. If that's riffing, then by all means, riff. But maybe try some stories that are unintentionally funny versus insane or intentionally horrible? Or you could just try to one up an intentionally funny story.

Wait wait wait, time out! Nobody told me about this! I've read every single one of your riffs, even when I was working at my father's I was trying to keep myself up to date. And we've even made collabs together. Of course we'll be more than happy to keep reading your stuff; at least I would.

Sorry to see you go but if you feel you need it. Personally, I'm here for the riffs but since the fandom slowed down and things settled a bit, it's not as pertinent is it?

End the riffs? But... Then how will I find out what happens in stories people have deleted already but you people had the foresight to save in advance?

I look up to you man! I try my best to riff, to make myself laugh. Also I'm too lazy to crack open a joke book. Your riffs make me laugh man! I never read Clop or Gorefics, except when they're in riffs, because then I have something to laugh at. And I love laughing!... Maybe a little too much. Maybe it's because I'm kind of depressed. That's probably a factor.

Speaking of riffing, I should probably get back to Rainbow Dash the Wonderbolt and that CatDog creepypasta... But I wouldn't even be riffing if I wasn't inspired by great riffers like you!

You make me laugh man. You make a lot of people laugh. And really, isn't that one of the greatest things you could ask for?

The answer is yes. Yes it is.

I'd hate to see you stop riffing man. Tons of people would. Not only do riffs make people laugh, but in the case of some of the worse stories, they show people how not to write, to make the world of fanfics a better place.

Don't give up on riffs Twow. Please? For me, and all your other fans?

Posting riffs on a site that's practically against them has proven to be... tough.
I pretty much gave up on it by this point, especially now that I got college work to worry about, and doing riffs here doesn't get you readers.
It's annoying, but that's just the way it is, I guess.
I think we're gonna have to move on, mate.
It's just us now. :fluttershysad:

It would be a horrific shame if you quit riffing. Reading those is one of the best parts of coming to this site. There are still plenty of terrible stories in need of having additional assholes torn into them.

2466991 ...Exactly what he said, but the Fulllife consequences series over the ones he listed.

I'd really love to read more of your riffs. Riffing has actually allowed me to derive some joy from stories that would otherwise just make me hate. I'm a bit sorry we never got back to the riff we were doing together.

Speaking of, though, how's Yaazi doing?

Dude, your riffs are hilarious! I think the world would be a bit sadder if you go:fluttercry:

Echoing Steel Resolve's sentiment, only keep going if it makes you happy to do so. If you're truly not enjoying riffing anymore, then it may be time to just walk away.

Now, I'm extremely biased in the matter because I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of your riffs (the stories themselves... not so much), but no one would begrudge you walking away if that's what you decide to do. Regardless of what you decide, it's been a pleasure to read your work.

Ya love it ya know ya do!

yours, twows and RatherHomely more or less got me into this fandom would be a shame to see you stop the riffs:ajsleepy:

I know you leaving will be a real shame. I've never read through most people's riff series, if I may be honest, just yours and Fallen's. Whenever I saw a new one, I know I got to reading it - and contributing in the comments - within three days. In fact, I think you might've been one of the bigger inspirations when it came to my pony line. If the spark of riffing creativity hasn't gone out on its own, I see no reason to smother it out.

Also, I have no intention of letting you go until we finish our co-riff. There are very few things I ultimately give up on. Been mostly holding it off because of the series of "please don't talk to me right now" status messages on Skype. Also my lack of ability at extended focus. I don't know if I ever told you directly, but I am honestly am curious about what's going to happen later in the story and in Book 4.

I still enjoy reading them, but if you don't want to do them, you don't have to.

It's up to you really. I riff stories because I enjoy doing it. Sure it is cool that someone else enjoys my work, but I really do them for my own amusement. To put it simply, do you enjoy doing it? If you don't, then stop. Doing it just to please your fans will only hurt your work.
