As I was writing a supportive private message to a writer on Fimfic who has lost their writing mojo for some time, I realized... wow. Yeah, it's been 21 months since I've produced a piece of prose. Basically two years now.
Sure, my job gives me a chance to have a creative outlet and make something that many people see and enjoy. I'm really, REALLY lucky to be in that position, and I'm grateful!
But, that's not quite the same thing as crafting a story and sharing it with people, having them read it and describe how it impacted them. I almost forgot that someone once told me that Nocturne was their favorite story of all time. That's... really something. To be fair that person is hopelessly addicted to Luna, but still!
Anyway. I should really follow my own advice I gave that ailing writer: I should pick up the pen keyboard and write SOMETHING that strikes my fancy. If I write something for myself, then I know at least some of you will like it, so I'd share it, and suddenly I'm a writer again, just like that. It's magic~
So, with that in mind... what do I write?!

I'd say something short, with a narrow focus. I'm doing the same myself, to get back into the game. (This time, I've brought doom to Equestria in only 1400 words--a new record!)
