Sundown Companion: Chapter 3 · 1:35am Sep 16th, 2014
Hello, it's me again. The hack who writes Sundown for you fine folks. Sorry that this one took so long to do and that it is shorter than what I said it'd be, but then originally it had a lengthy flashback instead of two short ones. Thank you all for sticking with me through this all. I appreciate it more than I can express. I should stop rambling and just move onto the bit where I explain my reasoning for the chapter.
Stand, Breathe, and Continue, it's a mantra that I sometimes used when things were too hard for me and I needed to moment to myself. This chapter, while it does not earn any sad tags in itself. A little aftercare for the characters is important. I could be throwing them into another spiral of sad and heavy emotions, but I felt it was necessary for me to build Celestia's and Sunset Shimmer's relationship up a bit more. No, this isn't going to be an awkward Celestia X Sunset fic, I mean relationship in its more pure form. Just a friendly relationship of trust and understanding.
Also this chapter features Sunset being even more unfocused about what happened yesterday in the story, this is my narrative of her mind trying to distance itself. Which is why I didn't make a huge deal about the report she filled out for Shining Armor.
Also featured is my huge headcannon of how the races of Equestria work. I don't believe Earth Ponies' get screwed over, or that Earth Ponies get only affinity with nature. Just like how I feel that the others aren't locked into a role just cause they were born with extra appendages.
Sorry that this chapter was kinda of a lull for the story, but I needed it to set up future events. Monday promises to be extremely interesting.
