I decide to check up on the progress of this "Season Five" of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
as enough time has passed since the Season Four Finale "Twilight's Kingdom"
and, I was curious as to Hasbro/HUB's progress, and if they revealed anything more on it.
thus far, THIS has been revealed..
No definate release date his specified, but it appears that Season Five will premier sometime in EARLY 2015.
Season Five will consist of 26 episodes (so, we will be entertained for a good long while)
no word on whether there will be a Season-Long-Story-Arc like what was done in Season Four.
but, confirmed episode plots thus far are as followed..
.Twilight coping with the loss of the original library.
(Yeah, fan writers have been doing HUNDREDS of stories based on this subject.
love to see what the series producers themselves are going to do with it..and, see if it's anything like the fanfics.)
.The entire Pie Family. (Given how large the family is, I can see now why 26 episodes were ordered.)
.Princess Luna dealing with a nightmare
(Oh, I would just LOVE to see more, or lack-there-of, Luna episodes!
and, if it's of Luna facing her own fears, I just bet we'll see Nightmare Moon in it.)
.a 100th special episode focusing on the background characters.
(FINALLY!! all the background characters that have dominated fandom are getting their own episode!!
maybe NOW we'll see a "REAL" return of Derpy..or, finally hearing Vinyl and Octavia's voices.
but, I won't hold my breath juuust yet.
given that we've already had 91 episodes, we'll have to wait until after the 9th episode of Season Five
to see this grand 100th episode featuring the background characters.
30 minutes worth of them should make SOME of us happy, won't it?!)
the production staff ALSO revealed that Twilight's new castle has a special function.
that it can "direct" characters to different problems all over Equestria.
nice idea..Hope it doesn't backfire, or anything.
I'm still going to wait on who the newest "Villain" of the season is going to be.
after Tirek, It's going to be a bit tough for the series producers to top themselves.

Awesome new details. Personally, I'd put my bits on another of the previous generation villains returning in some form, like Sonambula or Grogar the Necromancer.

all things considered, he'd be a formidable foe for Twilight and her friends.
I wonder what the delay is?
Are they sitting back and reviewing all of the episodes and trying to see what they did wrong?
Are they doing some major retooling of the show?

They don't review anything that's been done before.
From what I understand, quite a few new writers work on the new episodes without knowing too much about previous seasons
(my best guess is that they get "sticky notes" informing them of stuff like "Twilight's an Alicorn", "Discord is Good", and stuff like that.)
the most recent Post-Tirek update has only been found in a recently released MLP Comic Book by IDW Publishing.
where Iron Will returned, requesting Fluttershy's help with a personal problem, and the continuity was clearly AFTER Tirek, as Twilight's castle was shown in the first panels.
I can only imagine the actual hold-up was all focus being on Equestria Girls II: Rainbow Rocks (and, quite possibly this "Equestria Academy" series that I am hearing about.)
the Season Five premiere is still set for "Early 2015."
SO, we SHOULD expect to hear something by at least New Years, or the following month.
