I'm going to write another one shot involving the Upheaval world. This time, I'd like to hear what some of you would like to see me expand on.
Some conditions:
1. It's a one shot. Don't ask me to do something heavy like the fall of Lexarius, which needs, at least, a short series.
2. If it's something I'm planning on expanding on in the main series, I can't pick that one.

How about something involving the lives of Ponyville's residents and how they've changed as a result of the legion's new-found prominence in the Heartland?
How bout the life of a captured Legionnaire forced into slavery by Ophodites?
Seethe Scales' story? I'd would like to hear that told.
I'd like to hear Lion Court's tale. He was the first mage blade user, after all.

2451260 She was nearly killed by a bunch of dracodim just for being alive. Terrato saved her, she serves Terrato. Dragons are naturally introverts in the eyes of silly ponies.
How the families of the mane six are doing. We've seen Shining a fair bit, but it would be interesting to see how Twi's parents, the Apple family, the Pie family, etc. are doing.
Speaking of the Pie family, have we ever gotten an Upheaval-verse explanation for what a rock farm exactly is?
I have few ideas.
The first is a look back at when Terrato first met Black rose and how she found a way into his heart of stone.
The second is after Terrato is forced to kill her and how he dealt with the loss of the mare he loved.
The third is a look into the life of a young Vanguard Clash as he finds his place in the legion and his budding friendship with Pyre Valor.
My last idea is focused on Pyre Valor and how she came to the decision the the best way to serve the legion was to betray it.

More Background on any of the Thorns sounds good.
Another Eternal Herd story like The Old Guard.
A pre-Lexarius Equestria story, like Kin and Kind, but before Lexarius showed up.
I'll second Obsidian Rose's suggestion of a captured Legionarre in Ophitus.
2451382 I'd say a rock farm would be powered by Earth Pony magic, slowly 'growing' rocks until they're ready to be sold. It might even be heartland specific since there's only so much land in the Heartland and Celestia didn't want to level every mountain in it for building material. But again, we never really got the geography of the Upheaval world.
A one shot about some Cadets from the mainland joining the Legion.

Oceanus is a tough son of a bitch and i want to see how he exactly did it...
I know in my heart that he didn't twist the Herd's will into joining him but rather challenge his father with genuine support.
If that is not possible then anything related to the Eternal Herd, there is so much room for expansion there.

there is a small list of things i am curiuos about.
A- are all races in equestria descendant of some divine entity or divine species?
B- what exactly IS the nature of gryphons and where are the Zebra in all of this world?
C- what are the diamond dogs to all of this? i am surprised you didn't do anything with them ohonestly. they are basically orcs except smarter, somewhat..... and also dogs.
D- what is cadance to all of this? seems like an uncharacteristic write off if she is just a unicorn with wings or something. especially cause she has shown more than once in the hsow that she is NOT a pushover. i mean her second apperance in the series had her repelling a sauron pony for several days without rest. seems like an alicorn worthy feat to me.
e- i am actually bizaarely curious to what is going on in whatever place they are imprisoning the ponies that refused the draft. are they really being treated well?
f- perhaps a story with a culture clash about two miltiary organizations dealing with a pony who tried to bail from duty. cause we have one side far more merciful and another that uses murder to solve such problems. least that is how anyone within equestria would describe it i would imagine.
less serious idea, Terranto locked in the same room as pinkie pie. no escape, just pinkie pie. and yet have pinkie pie kinda ask pointed questions about Terranto, try to peel back the centuries of callous and scars and get to know the pony before he fought for a millenium against wht would bring equestria harm.
an even LESS seriuos idea, a essay about why wolven haven't died out from some kind of equine std considering they are biologically, to some point, compatible to ponies and eat them all the time, especially ponies with less access to more advanced medical shtuff.

be honest i am shocked i have rarely, if ever, found a story that does feature someone using diamond dogs as minions or soemthing.
all i can say with cadance is that it seems like lost potential. were she not shoved aside and was an alicorn, there oculd be a lot of questions to where the hell she exactly came from or what part she would play. she would be an alicorn born amongst the spawn of chthulu pony, there could be a whole messload of stories to tell from that.

2452684 all i was saying is that there is a lot of narrative potentail to having her be an alicorn born in a place alicorns should not be born in.
admitably when she first appeared, yeah she was a bit too bland. wouldn't want to write about her. now however, well i think she proved her merit. the comics with her especially helped in that, revealing her as much of a dork and even egghead as twilight under all that princessness. also shown she is more than capable of knocking a few heads considering she blasted a giant worm monster.
and as i said, could have had some potential in your story. an alicorn found in the human world.... heck you could have had her connected to oceanus in some capacity and celestia is trying to protect her. though that as a revelation now would not work since she has had zero presence in your story. whatever potential she had, it kinda got lost about a hundred or so chapters back.
they are big, strong, thuggish beasts that are likely a nuisance to others and are likely prone to subterranian life. as the orcs of mlp they could work. and even then you cannot say you can look at a diamond dog and not see them being used as muscle by some baddie.
2452650 I understand fully what you are saying. In reality; unless Visi says otherwise, Seethe Scale's story is very...limited. She nearly got killed for being born; Terrato saved her and for that she serves Terrato by protecting his favourite city; possibly other things as well. Before Spike the Dragon she was still that, she is only famous for her bravery in protecting the citizens.

I'd really love to see where Trixie fits into all of this or how she is coping with it; i may be wrong but i don't think you've mentioned her as of yet and think she would be an interesting character to be explored inside of upheaval.

Add to the fact that Terrato would likely not take kindly to her existence Love Butt would likey end up buried under a mountain or something. Lets just be happy with the amazing stories and wait for senpai to post more.

2452996 It doesn't have to be limited. This is a fictional universe, and anything can be made possible through some good storytelling. There could have been some interesting events that happend, maybe a little more fleshed out backstory, anything could be done. That is what I wish to see.

Very briefly after the mane 6 get banished in book one a azure showmare with a cutiemark matching Trixie is telling people that Twilight had challenged Celestia a and was banished for her pride.
I'd go for Lion Courts childhood, either tat or something from Blue Moon from before he and Black Rose joined the legion.
2453127 Like Carpenter said, a mare who's obviously Trixie was mentioned briefly. I'm kinda glad that Visiden hasn't brought her into the story at all, I guess I've read too many stories where Trixie becomes Twilight's rival, equal, or whatever. I wouldn't mind another one sentence mention of her in a future chapter though.
I'm late to the party here, but if you're still picking ideas, how about one of the Equestrian Legion heroes, like Moonrage or Ash Front. I think it would be pretty cool to find out why they;re considered heroes.
