Update Soon! Preview + Extra · 11:52am Sep 13th, 2014
Hoo-boy, this has been a long week. There's been something going on literally every day and I've barely had time to do anything, but I've been slogging through and working hard to bring you the next chapter of Wasteland Bouquet.
It's sitting at over 9k words right now, and should be done this weekend at the latest.
So many rewrites...
But enough of that. I promised a preview, and here we go!
"Fetlock, sweet Fetlock," I murmered, enjoying the clack of my hooves on ancient concrete as we walked a ruined city street. "Once a busy place, and now-" I had to hop-step as I raised one hoof and waved it, indicating the trashed buildings, "-a treasure trove, filled with salvage." The former suburb of Manehattan surrounded us, promising loot and caps in every abandoned building. Way off in the distance, Tenpony Tower was just barely visible, that elusive paradise in the wasted world, and I sighed, my eyes lingering on it until the other tall buildings got in the way.
That's all you get for now.
Anyway, one of the biggest events this week was the Royal Show. Rides, games, showbags and all manner of things to do or see. There was a fair bit of My Little Pony stuff this year, too. The Game Traders stall had the best stuff: MLP plushies!
And by "best stuff", I mean plush pones of dubious origin.
They had the Mane 6, Vinyl Scratch, Cherry Jubilee of all ponies, Cadenza, Luna, Celestia, Derpy and Queen Chrysalis.
The stitching and materials are great quality, and they are extremely cuddly... if you don't mind the wierd designs. The Pinkie Pies all had really flat faces, Celestia's horn was as long as she was tall, and Cadenza's mane looked like melted ice-cream. Luna... Luna was lopsided and wierd. Recognisable, but wierd.
Here's the two I got!
Best Ghoul and Best Bugpone.
Derpy is by far the better designed of the two. Her head's a bit over-stuffed and the proportions are kinda thick all around, but her wings are cute and she has the happiest expression ever. Soft and cuddly as anything, to boot!
Chrysalis is hilarious. One leg is shorter than the rest, everything seems to lean to the left (head, horn, crown, body, wings, everything) and the crown is literally a bit of felt stuck to her head. Hair is stitched on a bit odd, but looks alright. The back-plate is longer on one side than the other, and the legs just look odd in general. Again, though, the well-done expression makes up for the build strangeness. Besides, it's Chrysalis! I feel bad saying this, but she's actually softer and more fun to cuddle than Derpy.
The Royal Show's last day is tomorrow, so if you're planning to go, that's your last chance. If you went earlier in the week, you might've even seen me but never realised.
You should probably get rid of the 800 word writers' block chapter when you put up an actual chapter.
