How an Actual Human V. Pony War Should Go
Oh neat, this story is neat, it's alright. Could've been written better, and I wish it was a little funnier. But it was neat.
I had a story like this a long, long time ago, called "Return of a Fallen Race" (Not to be confused with my fic Survival of the Fallen Race) that was actually the exact same concept, and the early builds of Lazarus. (I have actually written many variations of Lazarus before hand and attempted to post on fim fic) It didn't do so well.
Why?
I think you all can figure that yourselves.
I even thought of re-creating that story (not Lazarus), instead of Return of a Fallen Race. I was thinking of HVP (Human Vs. Pony), a really simple title, wouldn't you agree Zach? I even have a basic summery for it on GDOCs.
Of course for those who don't like tyrannical humans ruling/enslaving ponies it wouldn't be a story for you. The main idea of the story was that the human race stumbles upon Equestria, yadda, yadda, yadda. Humans figure out that Equestria has many untapped resources, instead of asking for a trade agreement, they instead declare a five minute war and roll in with thousands of men, tanks, gunships, etc; and conquer them.
Of course not all the humans were "evil" as the ponies would say. It's just the soldiers following orders.
Anyhow the humans in said story, took control all of Equestria. Subjected the ponies into ghettos, while they basically mined the planet dry. The rest of the story involves a pony (possibly one of the mane six) joining a resistance force (that is very similar to XCOM) that has integrated magic into human weaponry and started preforming Terrorist attacks against the Human Regime.
It's the exact same idea as bkerr564 story above... well it's more or less how I imagined the aftermath would play out. Just in a less comical way, and instead takes itself more seriously.
Let me know guys, would you like to see me delve deep into a story that is the exact opposite of Lazarus? Instead of humans rebuilding and living under pony rule, it's humans taking over and ruling them?
When i see a Human vs Pony war fic they always makes me think...

Yeah I have thought of having the other species. Like in my Survival of the Fallen Race (which at the moment is under a hiatus) has all of the species; dragons, gryphons, ponies, zebras, etc; Vs. Humans.
Which is something I'd probably add, if I were to ever write this story. Which probably wouldn't be till Lazarus is finished. If it ever does that is. (Not saying that I'm contemplating ending that story)
"Imperialize" is definitely not the right word. Sticking with the simple "conquer" would be much better here.

It's sounds interesting, I feel like I've read somthing similar though... Anywho, if you do decide to write it I'd be happy to help if you need my amateur science or prereading skillz.

2452687 Oh of fucking course humans would win. The only way the ponies would be able to attempt a last stand, they would need to do some X-Com shit. Small hit and runs, and acquire any alien technology that could be implemented into their weapons so that they'll have equal footing.
That's the type of story I was thinking of. Humans come and conquer Equestria, small secret, pony organization unites and fights back by acquiring human technology and using it against them.
