"Come on...." Twilight turned the pages of the book Mythical Creatures from Another Time until a lightbulb lit up above her head. "It says in this book that humans are bipedal creatures that usually have short manes on their heads. They are capable of speech and wear clothes."
"But John doesn't talk!" Applejack countered. "Ah didn't hear her say anything."
"Wait, did you say that John's a filly?" Twilight inquired suspisciously.
"She LOOKS like a filly. seems like one." Applejack groused. "An' she's not tellin' me anything!"
"Maybe John doesn't understand our langauge?" Twilight questioned.
"She can understand Apple Bloom jest-" Applejack flinched as a pink blur materialized in front of the two mares. "Pinkie Pie, how did you- actually, ah don't wanna know."
"There's something about John that I can't seem to remember." Pinkie groused. "I mean, why would a human wear a slave collar around her neck?"
As the two ponies frowned at Pinkie's statement, they were oblivious of the presence of said human hiding nearby. The indents on her slave collar flickered slowly. A faint magenta aura began to manifest itself as it reacted to the surrounding air.
The air inside the Golden Oaks Library began to thicken, as if thick clouds descended to the ground. Twilight's horn suddenly flickered of its own accord, shining with a magenta aura. Hers felt warm to the touch, almost soothing. While the other felt cold and heavy, as if restraining an ancient power.
