I am currently almost done with a book following six ponies in a sort of alternate timeline. It's set in what I call the Unpleasant Time Where Everyone Is Cold And Angry, which was depicted in Hearth's Warming Eve (or is it Hearth Warming's Eve? Bah...).
Where's the synopsis...aha! It was hidden exactly where I already knew it was!
KINSHIP
Ever since her father committed suicide, the druidess Jade Trellis has kept to herself. She's stayed in a shack in the center of a forest, and thought little of the outside world except to trade her herbs for supplies (and alcohol).
But when she meets a pair of former soldiers seeking to avoid the approaching war, she realizes she can hide no longer. She persuades the reluctant deserters to allow her to 'tag along'.
Once out in the wilderness, they discover that the world is in even sadder shape than they knew. They team up with a talented but naive mage, a remarkably honest bandit, and a wise practitioner of an exotic fighting style. Together, they must find some way to survive in the coming blizzard.
There'll also be a sequel, Harmony. Looking forward to finishing and editing these stories! The sequel to Fresh Timber will also soon be writed! :D
