Defiance

To take a blank piece of paper and, from nothing, create a story, is the closest one can get to the powers of God.

After finally giving in to my inner Brony and deciding to meet some of the wonderful fandom online (as there are none where i live) i realize that i want to actually do something to contribute to the fandom in some way, especially to the fanfic that galvanized me to actually start reading fanfics and get back into writing: Fallout: Equestria by the amazing writer Kkat. This brought me to a question that i've been asking myself constantly over the past week:

What do i want to have this account actually do?

I don't really know to be honest. I know i want to start writing stories again, as it's been far too long since i've done it and i miss the creative release, but given the amount of spare time i have that seems to be a forlorn hope (especially when i take into account how poorly i tend to hold ideas in my head long enough to make a complete story out of them). Besides that though, i think i want contribute with little things, like posing questions that can create conversations for all of you and help you meet each other as well as me meet you.

And with that in mind, i ask the first question

How did you become a Brony?

For me at least, i became basically a closet Brony during my first year of college -- i was a member of the Anime club, and the president was a die-hard fan of MLP: FiM. I remember after one of the sessions we were talking and he asked me what my opinion on the show and the Brony fandom was, and i said i had no real opinion because i had never seen it but that i believed that if something makes a person happy, he or she should do it and tell anyone who didn't like it to fuck off. He ended up giving me a (pirated) copy of Season 1, and recommended that i watch at least the first few episodes to form an opinion. I ended up pulling an all-niter, and the next day asked him for the rest of the seasons that were out at the time. Ever since then i've been hooked, albeit in an anonymous, shy fashion because there are literally no Bronies anywhere near where i live.

So how did you all get into it? Feel free to post below.
