Ever dream about fanfic? · 2:57am Sep 2nd, 2014
One example of such a dream involved watching a new episode of MLP:FIM, and being worried about the impact the episode would have on one of the stories I'm writing, Retirement Blues, and its main character.
Of course, like most dreams, there are several flaws that become obvious once awake. In this case, not only is there no new episode coming out, but there's no conceivable way a new episode could impact an original character in a story that's currently set during Season One.
And speaking of the story, the time currently being spent in an airport is giving me much more time to write than I really wanted.
I'm watching the latest clip from Rainbow Rocks and saying to myself "They're shipping Twilight with Flash. That'll cause a little bit of a ruffle among the Wafu crowd."
I'm picturing a hour-long special released two weeks from now, a made for television movie that covers more of the events up to the grand galloping gala. Simply so that Hasbro can release more toys and little pony figurine dresses. The events of the hour-long special will, of course, have terrible impact on your main character and shove your story firmly over to the alternate universe tag.
There. Now your dreams about pony fan fiction can be much more accurate.
2421378 I really don't care about shipping for silly multicolored humans. It's totally irrelevant to stories about multicolored ponies, right?
2421398 Could be embarassing...

Once I dreamed Horizon was a girl and that I had a crush on him. Another time, I dreamt twice in the same night that I had woken up in the morning to find the story I had just published already had 27 up votes and 12 down votes. In reality, it's currently sitting at 8/7.
2421721 I've had the dream about strange things happening with a story's rating, too.
Writing, reading, coming up with ideas, and having dreams that would make good (if bizarre) fanfics. Yup.
