    So yeah

Turns out I got the wrong day when my classes start, they actually begin on Wednesday, or the 3rd. I plan on getting as much done as I possibly can, and I just finished the chapters of the Bercourt Manor assault. I would like to also explain how I came up with story, because, why not? Turns out I got the wrong day when my classes start, they actually begin on Wednesday, or the 3rd. I plan on getting as much done as I possibly can, and I just finished the chapters of the Bercourt Manor assault. I would like to also explain how I came up with story, because, why not? I had this idea a while back, back all the way to junior year in high school, but never fully executed it well enough. After I took a creative writing class my senior year, I thought to revisit this story and see how my writing has improved. And I got to say, based on the feedback I've been getting, I think I've done a pretty decent job. Do I think it's My Little Dashie good, hell no, but, I am proud of what I wrote.
Most of my influences come from, of course, war movies and games. I've always had a fascination with World War II, from the weaponry, battles, tactics, etc. Much of my influence, as you can tell, is from Band of Brothers, which is one of my all time favorite war series. Many of the characters though, are from different war movies. For example, James' character I got from was from Pvt. Jackson, aka the sniper from Saving Private Ryan. However, he has a more compassionate side to him, like Charlie Sheen's character from Platoon, but is slowly turning into a ruthless soldier, much like in the actual movie.
Lozano's character is mainly the cliche war maniac that guns down everything, much like Gunnar from the Expendables movie, and possess the brains of that of Pvt. Rieben, mostly questioning Twilight's role in the squad. Lozano however, does possess some good in him, but never shows it.
Finally, there's Kelly. He possess many traits of the fearless leader, again a little cliched. Many of his traits come from Sgt. Roebuck in World at War, with the understanding traits of Captain Miller, and the tactics and brains of Easy Company leader, then Lt. Richard Winters. However, much like Sgt. Roebuck and Reznov in World at War, he can easily kill people in cold blood. Pretty much every character, with the exception of Twilight of course, is seen as a brutal killer of war. Hardened vets that know their duties and will do anything to accomplish them, no matter how gruesome the task is to be.
I mainly chose Band of Brothers as my main influence, not just of the realism factor, but the fact that the European theater seemed more interesting for character development than in the Pacific theater, and also for the premise of the story. While it could've been entirely possible for Twilight to appear in front of a Marine squad in the jungles of Guadalcanal, the horrendous drops of the Airborne seemed to develop more of an individual character bond, than an multiple one.
Anyways, that's where I got most of my influences for this story. Again, thank you all for the feedback and keep it coming.
Ed
PS, prepare for a wave of updates to the story, I plan on getting ALOT done in these next three days.
