I'm Back! · 7:06pm Aug 27th, 2014
Short post today, but you'll understand why, I think.
Basically, the wedding was awesome. My younger bro and his wife are now on their honeymoon, and the rest of us are settling back into life with a new family member! The wedding itself and the reception were both a blast, and it was fun seeing and meeting all the people my brother has befriended and helped over the years. Plus, I got to see my own extended family, which doesn't happen that often.
Anyway, I was back at my place Sunday night. With an uncomfortable itch in the back of my throat. And when I woke up on Monday...
Strep Throat. Ugh. Again.
I'm no stranger to strep. I've had it at least a dozen times over the course of my life. I don't know if the first time made me particularly susceptible to it or what, but I know the symptoms by heart, and I had it again. So Monday and Tuesday were me lounging around reading and gaming. I tried to write, I really did, but in my addled state I could see how terrible it was.
But now I'm back in business and a few days behind schedule already. Ah well.
I've got three goals right now. First, I need to get Hunter's side story out. That's in the final stages of editing, so I'll probably start uploading it to FimFiction before long. And I need to secure a cover. But we should see that in September.
Second, I need to get the Dusk Guard group up at last. I need to get some banners. This may involve some sort of contest. Expect a post on that sometime later this week.
Third, I need to get Colony DONE in the next month. I'm not sure I will, but I'd like to. It's reaching the tipping point now, where everything starts to come together in a frantic kinetic BOOM of explosions and action, but I still need to keep working on it. And then there's editing ... but that's later. Right now I just need to get the first draft done.
Anyway, just a quick update to let you all know why I'd dropped off the earth for a few days. Things are resuming their normal schedule now! Onward!
I hope that your strep throat passes quickly. My brother quit getting strep after he had his tonsils removed but you've probably heard stuff like that before.
I don't recall if I've commented on any of your stories but I love the Dusk Guard stories.

Great to have you back! I'm happy to hear you had fun and I hope you get well soon.
