Well, since the drama is mostly over, I can at least reveal one reason for my writer's block and distraction... Aside from it being me.
I'd been dealing with my girlfriend for a while, breaking up, getting back together, and finally we decided to just call it quits and try to move on. Stress from my crappy job has not helped, nor has her having to help her aunt and uncle with their new twin babies. Suffice it to say, it is difficult to write romance about your self insert when you are having romantic issues in real life, and hard to write light hearted comedy when you feel like you can't smile.
But... If there is one thing this show, this fandom has taught me? It is that I have to keep smiling and keep hoping. I am in the final stretch of getting enough money for grad school. No loans for me, I'm paying it all myself. And I will finally, finally get a job I really want.
... And to be honest, in the long run it probably wouldn't have worked out. I mean, I want kids and a family, she hates kids emphatically. She loves Supernatural, I love Doctor Who...
And she loves Ron/Hermione as a pairing, what the Flying Dutchman? Harry/Hermione all the way. Suck it, Good Shippers. Even the original creator thinks the pairing was a mistake! SO WHO'S LOOKING DELUSIONAL NOW, HUH?! HUHHH?!
... Yeah I think I have some issues. On the plus side, they might be the kind of issues that make me write again.
Here's hoping. I would force it, but that usually turns out shit... And you deserve better.

I'm currently going to school to be an aircraft mechanic but I still have a loooong way ahead of me (and a lot of money) before I can work on commercial aircraft for a living.
I'm torn on the Ron/Hermione and Harry/Hermione debate.

Sounds like a smart woman. Kids can and will break a relation, and if your bond isn't strong enough, well, suddenly you've brought life into this world, and you can't responsibly parent it, forcing it to life through the unneeded stress of having to live with divorced parents.
Well, if you wanted kids yet she's firmly against spawning, I would say that it is simply for the best that you both parted ways rather than keep wasting each other's time.
Never forget the case of an uncle of mine: he didn't marry due to love, but simply because his girlfriend's father told him to stop wasting his daughter's time. That led to some forty years (so far) of both of them treating each other like malodorous houseguests.
Here's a good idea: relationships don't always ride high. Transmit that into your writing!
Ah good. No loans means you're free to do things after you get out of school (by graduation or otherwise).

Dude, sometimes you just have to take a break and get your shit back together. But like it or not, life will keep fucking with you, and it won't stop if you ask it to. Roll with the punches, take the hits, but most importantly, keep moving. You only lose when you give up, but so long as you don't do that, you're still in the game. Don't wait for things to get better. Waiting does nothing. If you keep fighting, there's no guarantee that you'll win, but you sure as hell won't lose.
Go with grace.

Glad to hear you've been saving up instead of taking a loan. Loans can easily become a constant poison in your life.
