Somedays, I sit, looking at the stars. I muse and wonder. I meditate and reflect. And I find the miracle in a new day of life. Especially since I swallowed so much glass the day before.

Life, naturally. · 4:56am Aug 18th, 2014

So here's a little update on my life for anyone who's interested.

Things have been busying up quite a lot recently thanks to a new job I got, something that's a bit fun, something that's a bit weird. It's taken away my time, and to be quite honest, recently I haven't been feeling the same excitement about writing pony fiction as I once did a long time ago.

It's been a while, hasn't it? 3 years maybe, since I've joined this fandom, and if anything, the biggest thing I took away from this are all the friends I've made across those many months.

I originally started writing because of a medical issue I have that diminishes my ability to move, and well, if anyone'd been following my previous blogs, they'd know that I started going through a new treatment for it earlier this year to help fight it. And it did help, it really did.

I regained mobility to the point where I decided on a whim to do something that I've sort of always wanted to do, and always been interested in in general. There's a Universal Studios here in Singapore, where I live, and every year there's a Halloween Event, same as the ones in the US.

So this year, I decided to audition for a role.

And I got a part.

It wasn't something that I really expected to get, considering. Considering my life, my conditions, and everything. But amazingly, I got the call, and for a while I didn't really know what to go do with myself.

I don't know yet what part it is, but I know I've been cast, and I will be doing a little special media event for Universal sometime soon. It's a pretty cool thing considering it was just a dream of whimsy for a guy who never had the chance to do anything of the like before, and all that was left for me over these past few months was to clear up my other work before this thing started.

Well, it's great fun. But I suppose that I'll be writing less over the course (not that I wrote very much before).

I'm not saying I'm leaving, at least not yet, but life does move on. And life can be rather surprising in many ways, indeed, for good and for bad. Maybe I'll write again. Maybe I won't.

In a rare state of reflection I decided to come back to this site, answer a few pms, and maybe just talk about what life's been for a while. Maybe take this opportunity to thank the people who've been supporting me and have been good friends. And also to apologize that I will not be here very much; at least not as much as I used to. But I'm always around to talk, if anyone cared to.

And really, it's all been a blast so far. And it's thanks to everyone else that the journey has been this fun as well. And well, we try not to think too hard about the ones who give us grief, eh?

So, thanks for the journey, FimFic. It's been real.

Until next time.

I guess that answers my question.

Well, Kitsune, I'm glad you're doing better now. It has been fun, hasn't it? If you ever want to, shoot me a message on Skype; I'd still like to talk with you, cool guy that you are.

Huh. I only caught bits and pieces of the medical thing. Nice to hear that you're doing better in that regard. :pinkiehappy:

The Universal thing is also way cool. I actually used to want to be an actor until I realized that I'm way too low-energy for it. Seems like a common thing amongst Fimfic people. It makes sense, since there's a bit of similarity between acting and writing in first person.

It's a fandom. You are here to enjoy yourself. You are creative so you choose to contribute. That is appreciated. That's all really.

Anywho. Hope you stick around even as a lurker.

Good luck with your role in the Halloween event. And good luck with whatever comes next if you do wander out of the fandom.

I want to say that I'm sorry that I didn't take the chance to get closer to you while you were around here, now that you might be leaving. But I'm just not a very social person, and there's no point in denying that. I can say that you're probably the closest I've ever had to a friend whom I have never met in person, and that's been nice.

I suppose this means I'll be catching up on all your stories, eventually. You know how I am. So much to read, so many arbitrary rules, so little time. And that will be bittersweet, of course. But it is the nature of such things to be finite; that's just how the world goes. And I could hardly expect you to continue writing if you're no longer excited to do so; I'm a strong believer that you should create for you, not for anybody else (unless somebody else is paying you, of course).

So, yeah, I guess that's my rambling maybe-goodbye. I'm not good with goodbyes. I'm always kind of worried that somebody will call me out on underdoing them, silly though that fear may be. I always feel (irrationally, I hope) like I come off like I don't care.

Whoa, that's great news! What a turnaround indeed, both for your job and your condition. Congratulations!

Don't sweat the writing stuff. All things pace themselves as they should. Just don't forget to find fulfillment in what you do.

I kind of wish that I had more to say (and that it was more eloquent), but I hope this will do.

I'm glad that things are working out for you, and I hope that your endeavors are rewarding. Thank you for sticking with us, thank you for being such a great person, and thank you for being a wonderful writer. You have been and continue to be a huge inspiration to me all of us.

Thank you for everything. ♥

Jeez, this is starting to sound too much like a "goodbye forever" letter.

Best of luck, dude...

I truly hope this works out for you.

It's nice to see that you're all right. Best of luck to you, my friend.

I'm real glad to hear that you're doing so much better. Less so that we might not get as much top-notch horsefic around here anymore, but that's how it goes. Airfare is too expensive for me to fly to Singapore and tie you to your chair to force you to write, so I'll let you off the hook.

Good luck with the Universal gig. Hope it goes well for you. And if I don't catch you around here again, then I'm glad we got to chat while we did.

That's really awesome! :O Congrats!

Naaa, Kitsu-chan!

I'm so glad to hear you are doing better physically! It's a hard road, overcoming such daunting challenges - your strength and perseverance and good fortune are all heartening!

And to land a role with Universal - what fun! I have no doubt you'll rock their world. I'm very curious what you'll be working on, though I doubt you can tell us given the usual NDAs around such projects.

If your new adventures pull you away from writing I will have a sad, as I enjoy your writing and always look forward to seeing new stories from you. But of course I understand that life pulls people in new directions all the time. Here's hoping your new path is an excellent one, wherever it leads!

Thank you for sharing your stories, your thoughts, and your time here with me and everypony else. Have fun, be well, and know always that you are appreciated.

Light and laughter,

Woo hoo! :yay: Sad to see you go, but that's awesome. Good luck in the real world; it's a scary place out there.

It's always sad as people move away from the fandom, but it's a lot less sad when they're moving towards something awesome. Congrats on the role, that's really an achievement. Maybe even cooler than making the feature box, but I dunno... :trollestia:

Seriously, just remember that you're more around here than a fic writing machine. Folks around here are your friends, and we'll always want to hear what's going on with you, enjoy your virtual company, and if you feel like it producing anything, pony or not, we'd love to know about it. Don't be a stranger, even if pony isn't your thing. And best of luck on whatever is!

Wow, man! That's great!!! :D :D :D

I see how it is. Now that you're a big wig movie star, you don't need Fimfiction anymore. WELL FINE. I DIDN'T WANT YOU ANYWAY!

I hope we can still talk.

Good luck and have fun with your role, KR. Also great to hear your condition is improving!

Best of luck in the future, wherever it's leading.

Kudos on the positive stuff! Make sure to remember us fondly if and when you move on past this, but know we'll still enjoy your writing.

See, this is what happens when you have no internet for 2 weeks. You miss the potential goodbye letter of a fantastic author. :raritydespair:

Drama aside, good luck with the Halloween part, and if you do drift away from this fandom, with all your future endeavours, whatever they may be. One thing I would say? Be proud of what you have accomplished here. Pony fiction may not always feel like something worthwhile, but if your work makes others happy, even for a moment, then you have brought something good into this world, and your fics have most certainly done that.

Sorry if I got a bit too sappy at the end. I'm not crying, I swear. :fluttercry:
