Learn to love the writing, of telling a story that you want told, and not the recognition that comes with it. When skill and passion atrophy, write for yourself, and in time, you'll inspire others.

    Calling all my Former Proofreaders

This goes out to everyone who has helped me with my stories these past few years. Firstly, thank you so much, I could never have gotten as far as I have without you. You've been inspirational, a pick-me-up, and oftentimes good friends when it came to what I was writing and dealing with, as have all the fans who have read my works. Again, I thank you all for being there with me through

    Commissions and Rules

Should I take them? I have been contacted in the past concerning them, though decided against it at the time, and would be tickled pink if people actually wanted me to do such. However, I would likely have a few ground rules.

A Dragon's Journey is Too Big · 2:55am Aug 8th, 2014

What I mean by the title is simple: the document I have been using for A Dragon's Journey has grown so large, I've hit 213,000-ish words and 411 pages, and let me remind you, this is the rough draft document. I'm having trouble saving it in its entirety just because it's so damn big. I've started a new Word document for the next however-many-words-I-write section of the story, and I swear, this thing just keeps getting longer and longer. The Istanbul section was originally set to be only about one or two chapters and maybe 10K words, not 4 chapters and bloody 24K words.

This part I'm writing now? Second chapter of five or six. Seriously, I should just mark each section as an arc in the story.

The way things are going, this whole story, even if I write only a chapter every week or two or three, is going to end up being one of the longest stories on this site, if not at least the longest anthro story or something. That, and it might reach upwards of 150 chapters.

Seriously.

Wow.

I know a lot of you are just fine with that. I'm also fine with the fact this is in the top-ten of longest anthro stories on the site. It makes me feel so... accomplished.

Also, no, I don't write any of it on Googledocs, just because I'm not afraid losing it. I've lost chapters before, and trust me, the ones I wrote to redo them were longer, better, and just more fun to write.

Too damn long.

The average novel is only 100k.

Got to at admit, part of the reason why I stopped was because I'm so freaking far behind. That and I'm a very slow reader, and kind of lazy. Still, this was the story that showed me that even a clop story could have a plot. When my life get's less stressful. I would like to read more of it for sure. It's been a wile, but I think I could pick it up fast.

Anyways, congratulations for dedicating so much time to the your story. Even if I only got up to Spikes first bride, I always new A Dragons Journey was a true hidden gem of FIM fiction.

Keep writing, don't stop and never think for a second that it is too long. I know that you can make it end great because the ride so far has been wonderful.

No such thing as too long. Write it until it is done, no matter how far down the line that is.

This post is hilarious to me, mostly because I just got done with the first three of Imploding Colon's series; Austeoh, Eljunbyro, and Innavedr :rainbowlaugh:

Really though, ignore the Eagle and keep going, I know at least three people are loving it :rainbowdetermined2:

check out diary of a madman its HUGE its longer then the harry potter sires

And I'm probably maybe possibly gonna start reading it in a month or so ._.

Oh well at least it's not as bad as Man Of War was... oh god that took long to reach the point it was at....

Edit: And yeah, sure, Diary of a Madman is making me a bit scared because I want to start it but it'll take me like a year to read it ;_; (I'm not a slow reader, but I have way too much stuff to do, I only read stories on my phone when I'm going to sleep, rarely otherwise)

The story is perfectly long. I like stories with long chapters.

Max

MOTHER OF GOD...:derpyderp2:

I have no doubt that this will be one of the longest stories on the site, and it will be also one of the best ones too... just update it already! :raritydespair:

Ahem, sorry about that. Anyway, I have the rough draft for the next chapter done with: just waiting for my proofreader to get back to me when I can send it to them. It's shorter now than I'd like, so expect it coming out likely some time next week after I put it a bunch of edits/additions/stuff... I hope.
