This one's all Skywriter's fault.[1] "We really need a group for Dry Footnotey Humor," he said over in comments at 18th Brewmare. Well, such a group did not yet exist, and so:

… you know, it's only with that observation that I realize talking about "footnotes" in a pony context is kind of silly. I might need to start a group discussion about whether to change the name of the group to "Hoofnotes are Awesome" (or some other alternative).
