2346611 That's because they just want to fit in with the other guys that rage about it, who coincidentally are doing it for the same reason. Others are just jealous that they can't write something so good. Seriously, not one of their arguments as to why it's bad has any merit.

But seriously, as much as I loved Past Sins, and despite it being recommended to me at a convention panel, I would recommend your stories more than any others. Your talent for writing both clop AND good story lines is something that sets you apart from all the rest. I kind of got spoiled to be honest...
Clop from most others just lacks substance compared to your writing, as you have a way of making each story and character take on a so much more 'realistic' feel. I just can't enjoy reading the same kinds of things any more, as they all seem empty, lacking in depth, and simply don't draw me in the way your stories do.
It's actually made me lose interest in the average clop story, as I find myself wanting more story, and (dare I say it) the trademark APeg DRAMA!

Well, actually, I write insanely fast. I could put out a new chapter of Affliction a DAY if I felt like it. Problem is, writing that sort of thing just drains the creative juices for me.
I think why my clop is more engaging than the average is that I have a real, real problem writing 'out of the blue' screwing. There needs to be background. There needs to be a reason why character A and B have decided to screw! I can't just write Trixie x Twilight. I have to explain why Trixie and Twilight got to that point or it just doesn't work for me, as a writer.

Exactly! It's all the underlying reasons that make the story so interesting and captivating. Because it's a STORY, even if it's clop. You bring the characters to life, in a way that makes it far more entertaining a read than "Pony A puts anatomy into Pony B"...which is all I can view the rest as these days...
Hell, you make it so that the clop is, rather than the focus, the end result of the established character interaction. More than anything, it takes a 'natural' progression, even when circumstances seem to push things along rather quickly. You never fail to actually explain WHY they are doing what they are doing, with fairly believable answers at that...
But I ramble too long, let the master return to his work!

Meh, repetition doesn't bother me that much. I know it's supposed to be a big deal, but as long as the writing as a whole is great, I don't even notice. Granted, if the writing is sub-par AND repetitive, well, yeah, then there's a problem
