    King Sombra theories

If you've read The Journal of the Two Sisters, you'd know that the Crystal Empire was previously ruled by Princess Amore, before King Sombra ruled over it. Also, Starswirl created an age reversal spell and uses it on himself. The Reflections arc in the comic series showed Starswirl and Celestia traveling through the magic mirror, which led to Celestia eventually finding the

    Top Five Discord Fanfictions!

I've read alot of fanfictions on this site in over two years. Most of them were great. Some were fairly average. Very few left me utterly disappointed. In the case of what I'm about to feature here, it's the exact opposite.

These stories are the epitome of quality you don't expect in a Discord fanfiction. It manages to go beyond your expectations.

    The end of an era

    Curse you, Saban Brands!

You guys know how Saturday mornings always used to play the best shows from the old days? Remember those classics, kiddies?

Top Five Discord Fanfictions! · 10:29pm Aug 3rd, 2014

In my eyes, depending on the theme of the story, a Discord fanfiction should be hilariously comedic, outrageously random, broodingly sad, or if it practically teaches philosophy. With a character as unique as Discord, it takes a bit of effort to write his comedy accurately, and even harder to have him be the symbol of a struggling friendship, betrayal, or even order. Most writers match his characteristics, and it earns a chuckles from us.

These are the stories that go above and beyond with Discord. I may not be a hard-boiled critic, but I know when potential is mastered.

Number one.

Written by Craine.

You know this is a prime candidate. While balancing out the comedy, Craine managed to include the moral of stealing from a friend. He hit the mark with Discord as the focus of this moral when Twilight steals his sacred journal, the only object he had ever crafted with his own hands. The outstanding details, flawless characterization, and overarching comedy is what brings it to number one, and its multiple features. Discord practically tore apart Equestria just to punch Twilight in the face.

Number two.

Written by Klabautermann.

This was my favorite Discord fanfiction for a long time, and rightfully so. It did everything Discord Punches Twilight In The Face, and did it first. Admittedly, I had trouble sorting the two for their spots, but honestly, I rank these both as equal. The summary, taken after the season two opener, is Twilight develops a love for Discord when he is put on parole. Their personalities clash in the most hilarious, and at times, tear-jerking way. It's unbelievably well-written. What more can be said? Krabautermann is a genius.

Number three.

The tale of Discord learning to cope with his now-powerless body. The context is set after the events of the season four finale, and serves as the sequel to TalentlessPony's other success, More Than Trust, where Discord sacrifices his powers to prove his trust to Fluttershy. Also featured multiple times. Another outstanding story with a believable moral. TalentlessPony? I think bursting with talent.

Number four.

Written by chaos2012.

This fanfiction is a game changer. It stars Celestia and Luna, pitched in a duel against Discord. Actually, duel is too nice. This is a straight up war. Discord is portrayed as irredeemable, and willing to kill the Princesses to rid himself of them and truly earn his freedom. Eventually, the two alicorns merge into an original character, Eclipse, and it's very believable. It ends on a bittersweet note, with Discord destroyed, and Eclipse being the new permanent form for the combined Celestia and Luna.

Number five.

Written by Phoenix Quill.

Discord Writes a Ship Fic. That title alone is hilarious. The story uses comedy to its full effect with Discord as a horrible writer, then spiraling into an absolutely random chain of events. The references alone are too many to count. This is an example of comedic brilliance.

And that concludes my Top Five Discord Fanfictions. I may do another one of these if you like them. And for my loyal fans, The Rule of Two will be receiving an update very soon, so watch out for that.
