Thanks to Car Cloth, who become my 200th viewer, and sadly there is no special prize for that, like a free ball peen hammer.
I feel sort of awkward, because the next story probably isn't what everyone would have requested, and I'm already behind on Looking Glass World. I probably can't/shouldn't toss out a lot of plot bunnies for story ideas and let everyone vote. I know I can't do it without falling even further behind. But if you want to toss in some ideas, I might pick out one or two for a drabble.
NB: I'm not going to write anything that busts up CheesePie or contains gore or porn, so don't bother asking.
I do have a file of "misc fic ideas." Here are a few:
1. Rarity turns down a proposal she very much wants to accept.
2. Flash Sentry becomes madly jealous when someone mails a set of Twilight's socks to the house, leading to a wild door-slamming frenzy at a cheap hotel.
3. Death of a Party Pony--a comedy, believe it or not.
4. Regrettable Las Pegasus marriage.
But I worry that if I do these, or the more involved TrenderMaud fic I'd like to write, it'll put Looking Glass World behind schedule.

Coincidentally, earlier this night on the train home I was writing down some new story ideas, all set around the same time.
"Semi-Orphans in the Storm"
One week after defeating Red Haze the Dragon, Rainbow Dash must lead the Weather Patrol against a rogue storm from the Everfree. Can she coordinate her merry band of lunatics to save the town while keeping one eye on somepony who is not the world's best young flier, Fluttershy?
"Business in Canterlot"
Spike must be off to Canterlot to meet with Luna and attune his magic to hers so that he can send and receive messages with her by dragonfire. But why is Luna plying him with gems and lots and lots of questions about Twilight Sparkle?
"She'll Mix Up An Evil Brew"
Days after returning from the fight with Red Haze, Pinkie isn't getting better. She's finding blood in her spittle and stool, her body aches, and she's constantly exhausted. Is Pinkie hurt worse than she thought? If she is, who can help her?
Cannot wait for Triple Slam.

The one with Rarity turning down a proposal she wants to accept -- is this a proposal of marriage, some other sort of romantic proposal, or something else entirely such as a business proposal? I do see some inherent drama in Rarity turning down something she wants, as I see her as "strong passions strongly restrained by intelligence and principles," so her internal struggles can be interesting.
The socks story sounds like a farce, in the classic sense. This could be funny.
Who dies in #3?
And who gets married in #4?
2337476 1. It's a marriage proposal. Thing is, I probably couldn't do it in a one-shot. It would involve some development, since some things would develop over time.
2. The socks story literally IS a farce; an adaptation of a French farce, with all the characters' genders reversed. I suspect that I just want to write Pinkie as a homicidal Spaniard.
3. Cheese, and yes, it's intended to be funny.
4. Cheese and Pinkie, but out of continuity with my regular series. They haven't seen each other or been in touch since the birthaversary.
2336930 Two of those ideas sound like sequels to Dragonshyness. Pinkie's illness worries me. It sounds bad. The other sounds like something after Luna and Celestia's conversation.

"Semi-Orphans in the Storm" would be a character-centered adventure with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy taking place at the same time as "Look Before You Sleep." I'm not entirely sure what I'd have happen but there would be some creepiness from Cloud Kicker, at least one or two rescues from life-threatening situations, and it would probably end with an absolutely exhausted Rainbow and Fluttershy collapsing somewhere awaiting the storm.
"Business in Canterlot" would be slice of life with Luna deciding to learn something about Twilight Sparkle by being all subtle and manipulative like her sister. It would also take place at the same time as "Look Before You Sleep" and would represent Luna departing from her prior policy of deliberately ignoring Twilight so as to avoid being upset by what she might learn. It would also involve Spike happily devouring gems.
"She'll Mix Up An Evil Brew" would be drama with Pinkie refusing to acknowledge to herself that she was nearly killed by Red Haze. For weeks afterward, Pinkie is trying to do her normal energetic baking and party-planning but what she doesn't get is that her powers are the only thing keeping her alive; she's twisting worldlines just to avoid suffering organ failures. The Cakes are worried and trying to get her to take it easy, but have no idea just how bad actually is her health at this moment. It's Zecora -- right after the events of "Bridle Gossip" -- who recognizes what she's seeing, namely that Pinkie is in the process of unwittingly turning herself into a freaking lich -- and mixes up the solution, which is a combination of nutrient and judiciously-applied sedatives to let Pinkie finally get some sleep and proper nutrition, in time to avoid the actual collapse of her life processes. It's actually a pretty dark concept, though it has a happy ending -- the point of it is that Pinkie does not yet fully-grasp that her powers have limits and that she is mortal in this form.

A regrettable las pegasus wedding sounds funny. Its like when Ned Flanders and Homer Simpson went to las Vegas and they got drunk and married some showgirls it was an funny episode for sure actually it was just Ned who married a showgirl but still that what that story idea reminds me of.
