Derpy, Pinkie Pie, Sweetie Belle, Chrysalis. Myself, summed up in four MLP characters. I'm a deeply flawed individual, but if you can get past that, I'm sure we can be the best of friends.

life is shit sometimes, you know? · 8:35pm Jul 31st, 2014

So basically yeah, my life's gone down the tube the past month or so. I sprained my ankle, which has left me bedridden for just about the past month or so. Only in the last week and a half have I actually been able to start walking on it again, and even then not for very long before I have to call it quits due to the pain. (I figure it may actually have a hairline fracture to it, but since I have no insurance I can't go to the hospital without getting [another] huge bill, and I don't want to do that.)

Also, I've been trying to write on the last few chapters of Nightmare's Return, but nothing's coming to me right now, and like I've said before I hate having to make you guys wait a million years between updates.

So yeah... My life's kinda shit right now. :| I mean, I guess my birthday was two days ago, so that's something right? 26 years old... Groan.

Sorry to hear about the ankle, have you tried support-wrapping it, or some manner of cheap brace so you're not forcing it to move so much? A simple ace bandage can be wrapped around your foot-to-shin area, supporting your ankle, and keeping it relatively stable, at little to no cost. You could also use hard wooden rods to reinforce the limb, like a makeshift splint.

I dunno. I'm running off Boy Scout first aid memories, so there's that.

As for updates, if they give you an issue, then they're not the kind of reader your fic needs. If your reader isn't willing to offer you the time to bring yourself to write, then you don't need to feel compelled to comply-That's how we burn out. Take a few more days, let it sit by unmentioned, and focus on feeling better. Then, your fic will start to feel better in return.

Chin up, mate, we're hoping for a speedy recovery!
And happy birffday!

but old Boy Scout memories are the best kind. I remember my Scouting days. fun times.

2332373
Ah yes, :trollestia:scared the 'masters, cause I could start a fire and boil water in under a minute. The little bastard pyro, I was.

Scouting tends to attract the pyros, I've found out.

DUDE, YOU'RE ALIVE!:pinkiegasp:

I was hoping to see you again in the near fut-....

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, hope you get better. But hey, in retrospect, it's just a matter of waiting for it to heal. As for the insurance, I've seen how much a operation you DESPERATLY need can cost, so I can't help you with that.

Don't worry about your fans having to wait a crap-ton of time to get an update. They say they can't wait for it, but let's face it, your fic is not the only fic they favorited. You gotta remember that.

Get better for me, and welcome back bro:twilightsmile:

2332389
yep I'm alive. I just have stupidly sporadic internet because my library card has a 50 dollar fee on it and I can't use it until I get that taken care of. so I'm kind of at my old college right now freeloading off their campus web :twilightblush:

also it's really nothing that drastic to require surgery. I just need to let it heal naturally.

You're 26? Happy birthday! You'll die before...me...Well that's not gonna work in upping your spirits :applejackconfused:(heheheh. 'upping').

Hooray for dark humor!

Also, how does spraining your ankle cause a fracture? I recall accidentally twisting mine ninety degrees and limping for a few minutes while I readjusted to the pain and position of my fatigued muscles.

And I'm assuming you're in the states? At least a soviet country like Belgium has national healthcare implemented...as well as several other forms of insurance.

2332392 I have met many-a men in my time, but I never met someone like you. With the exception of a couple of hundreds, but who's counting?

You?

Impossible, you didn't even know how much 50 bucks worth of internet was.

2332387 Really? I've never tried it. (But I did go to a camp once where we used blow torches one day. It was fun!!!:scootangel::pinkiecrazy:)

And I've never done anything to my ankle, but my sister has. What 2332368 will probably work. I'd ask my sister, but she's not here right now. The only thing I've ever done to my leg was when I was eight months old. And I hope you had a good birthday!! You've been alive more than twice the amount of time I have!!

2332395
yeah I'm stateside. our medical coverage fucking sucks more often than not. unless you're rich. then you get the best coverage ever.

2332409
it wasn't Internet, it was two books that they claim I destroyed but in actuality got destroyed in their book drop off box.

2332433
...wow that just made me feel really old. thanks a lot. :derpytongue2:

We're getting free fanfiction, I don't think we'll complain too much if we have to wait. Try to get some rest and feel better.

2332461 IT'S A CONSPIRACY, I TELL YA.:rainbowwild:

2332474
true but I've had NR going for over a year now, when in all honesty it should have been completed in about half that time. it really frustrates me the level of bs that goes on in my life that almost completely prevents me from writing horsewords.

Well...Happy Belated Birthday, dude. I followed you as a present. Sorry, I don't have a better gift for you. Cheer up, man. Shit always gets better. Hang in there.

no offense......but come to england, *whispers* join us, we offer tea biscuits and free health care

im surprised america still hasnt adopted this idea yet.....

>not living in Canada

2332461 Welcome!! I make a lot of people here feel old. I haven't met anyone my age or younger yet on here. (Though I just found out that there was an age limit or something on here. Stupid rule.)

2332461 I thought Obama's healthcare plan was made available for everyone.

In Belgium, the ONSS taxes 13.07% of your salary to cover ALL of your insurances (And I literally mean all of them). It might seem a lot, but do note that the Soviet Belgian government taxes 34.71% of Employees' salaries, and 40.71% of workers'. Now add the 13.07% in and you can't really complain about taxes elsewhere.

I'm sorry to hear you're out of sorts at the moment. Take your time and rest up, your limbs are important! If there's anything at all I can do besides offer support, let me know and I'll do my best to help in any way I can.

I can even sneak in a prayer or two for ya if you want! :raritywink:

2332662 You'd think that the healthiest nation in the world must surely have a neat health care system, but frankly, the big three letters have the worst health care in the western hemisphere, only maybe contested by the Brits. Every time I bring the topic up in discussions, I get lanes ranging from 'not entirely that good, if I'm honest' to 'Obama's shitcare sucks ass'.

I'm sorry to hear that you're that miserable, CG, and I hope you'll be able to stabilize the circumstances in the shortest period of time possible. Oh, and happy birthday.

Health care in the States is like broadband in the States: competition is next to nil, and there's no incentive to do better. I hate the idea of a single monolith like Britain's NHS, but I must concede that switching to such a system would screw a whole lot of fat cats who richly deserve screwing, which would make it easier to bear, at least at first.

I'm sorry, that really sucks. I wish I could help, but as a poor college kid the only thing I can do is wish you luck.

2332990 Yeah. This is why Obama wanted to reform the healthcare. Of course, people became complete morons after shifting into the new millenium and, since they have nothing to compare it to, consider the Obamacare as a terrible system that siphons their money.

But, that's to be expected. Everyone constantly starts hating the current president after two years, then the cycle repeats and repeats and repeats and repeats...

Holy Celestia's beard, you're alive! :pinkiegasp:

...Well, roughly alive, but that's somethin'.

So, late Another-Spin-Around-The-Sun celebration for ye', get your ankle well soon, so you can walk again, and about the ideas about the story...

...Give it time. Simple as that. :ajsmug:

2332903 My memories of Vanoss just made me laugh on a serious blog post... why...

Anyways that all sounds like it sucks man, hope things get better.

Happy belated b-day to you.
I really hope things get better for you.:pinkiesad2:

You also have some of the highest income taxes and least business investment incentives in all of Europe. As of Q1 2012 the United Kingdom's national debt amounted to £1,278.2 billion, or 86.8% of total GDP. The PSNCR figure for 2010/11 was £143.2 billion, or 11.7% of GDP. Total British GDP in 2010/11 was estimated by the IMF at $2.25 trillion, or around £1.4 trillion. As bad as the debt is in the US, your own debt is far more disconcerting. Also, your health care system is completely overtaxed, having to import poorly qualified doctors from out of country to fill in the gaps where many of your own doctors have bugged out entirely. If you want a superb example of this sort of health care system, check out Greece, Italy, Cuba, and North Korea. They've effectively bankrupted themselves with this inanity, and the Mediterranean nations now have the highest infant mortality rates in all Europe, effectively surpassing all but the poorest of the Balkan nations.

I don't usually get political on here, but c'mon. C'mon. This ain't the "unicorn" of health care systems. It's the "aye aye/cockroach hybrid" of health care systems.

2338303 but its still free :trollestia:

2338474

Hehehe...okay, that was pretty funny, dude. I'll admit...ya' got me...but facetiousness aside..."free" doesn't mean "better." The two terms aren't synonymous. And also, nothing that's worthwhile in this reality is "free." At least, not for long. How long can an overburdened society that's desperately searching for additional sources of revenue...mostly by taxing the most productive of it's citizens...keep something this expensive "free?" Not long. Everything comes with a price tag. The cost of labor (or labour in your own vernacular) always overrides any social dictum or pretense. Sentiment vs. Reality is the case here. No matter how vehemently someone wants it to be otherwise.

No disrespect intended, my Anglican nigga' and fellow hominid.

2338499 meh im 17 i dont give a shit at my goverment or the people fucking up the country unless it affects me directly, that wont be for a while, so i can lay back and watch shit burn till then :pinkiecrazy:

2338474

And also...your profile pic is adorable, dude. I commend whatever artist managed to make a xenomorph/pony hybrid so cute. That took talent, brah.

2338504 the internet man, just found it at random.

2338503

Dayummn, nigga'...you cynical as a motherfucker to be so young. That's pretty uncommon...most kids your age are wide-eyed idealists that think they're going to change the world solely by whining and parading about in support of whatever arbitrary "cause" is contemporaneously popular to tout. But you're absolutely right. Same thing here in the US. I might as well take advantage of the utterly retarded federal student aid program before it implodes on itself. You're a hell of a lot more mature than your age belies, my friend.

2338510

Well, it's goddamn adorable. And I want one. As a pet...I shall name him Pokey. And we shall be best friends forever. He's got a widdle awien mouf thingy! *SQUEE!*

2338531 hell i would ride on one into battle

2338542

Really? I don't think it'd be very dangerous compared to an normal xeno, dude. It's so widdle! You could just hold him down and rub his little belly.

I am confident enough in my masculinity to say this. Shit's fucking cute as fuck, dude.

2351465 Someone sure went after their merrit badges. My brother was in Troop 50-something and they didn't do much other than hike and fish. Probably a little hard to get badges that way. Was still pretty fun to hang out with them on weekends and stuff sometimes.
