Adorable CheesePie plushies! · 6:19pm Jul 31st, 2014
Well, I do have to do some real life things. I should also be working on Looking Glass World, but I think I'd like to crank out the companion piece to Great Expections and Triple Threat. Great Expectations is really a prequel to each of the other two, and now I am on a roll. I'd show you the cover art, but I don't want to hint at ANYTHING.
So instead, have a look at these guys!
WARNING: INTENSE CUTENESS.
The source for all of them is LittlestPlushShoppe
Holy crow, will you look at his hair? It's perfect! I have to find a nice spot in my house where I can display them and not get them mucked up. I might even stick them behind glass, because it's so dusty out here.
Oh, did I forget to mention that part? They're mine.
Why is Rarity becoming my go-to mare for reaction shots? Am I supposed to glean something from this? I don't even wear makeup.
Awwwwww there so cute
The cuteness is so much!
Rarity go-to reaction?

(What's the code to have it in the click-to-view thing? I haven't figured it out.)
But yeah, intense cuteness is present in these pictures. Although I can't help getting the idea that Cheese is constantly holding his breath. I don't know, it just looks a little odd. Nice to see there's the whole attire though. The hat, the poncho, and heck, even Boneless. Can't forget about the rubber chicken dance. And yes, their hair is perfect!
Now all we need is a stop-motion CheesePie story with the use of rubbish camera angles and Arial text on screen.
That is eerily perfect hair. That is hair that is dangling from the edge of the Uncanny Valley, like the plushie maker shaved some hapless soul for it.
Aside from the star of tonight's nightmares, they are very nice plushies. I be jelly.
You lucky fan, you. Those are so cute! Must... resist... jealousy!
(Holy cow, Rarity is great for reactions).
These are so cute! I want them! They're really accurate too, especially the hair.
I'm extremely jealous of that Cheese Sandwich one.
2332138 I think we're used to seeing Cheese with a giant smile, and here, that's where the seams on his head come together. The same plushie maker made a Cheese for the Traveling Pony Museum and I just fell in love, mostly because plushie makers tend to sew the hair as one big pillowy thing. Mind you, this means his hair will not stay perfect forever, but that's ok.
I'd have no idea how to do the stop-motion thing, but if I did, I'd do it with the Cheese Sandwich blind bag that's coming out.
2332192 Is . . .is the uncanny valley thing a good thing? It's very long faux fur, which is why it looks so real.
2332211 Yeah, I know. It was a serious splurge, but I can't say I'm sorry. Not feeling well has put a serious dent in what I'm able to do, so I funneled some of what I would have spent eating out and visiting my family and stuff like that into the plushies. Hopefully they'll get the problems ironed out soon. And then I will still have the plushies :).
2333283 The hair amazes me.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just that the juxtaposition between hair that realistic and the rest of the pony plushie makes some wires cross in my brain, bringing to mind some of the more eldritch interpretations of Pinkie powers.
Aha! So then, from my pov, it's perfect! Not to mention that there was a reason I wanted Rainbow Power Pinkie, even though, at this point, I really don't know exactly what it is or does. I just think that it might turn into a really interesting element of Cheese and Pinkie's relationship. Or possibly not. He's always seen her as a kind of goddess, so if she manifests herself with some kind of goddess-like powers, his feelings may simply be "duh."
Also, I think Rainbow Power Pinkie is cool, and she's absolutely unique, as far as I know. I don't know if you've been following the EQD kerfuffle on OnlyFactory ceasing production of knockoff pony plushies. A few people have been complaining that if this gets shut down, the makers of custom plushies in small amounts should be shut down, too ("it's only fair.") To me, they're not at all the same thing, and while I wish that there were nice quality, moderately priced plushies of secondary characters like Daring Do, a factory mass-producing them is pretty open-and-shut. Not to mention that they were also using fan designs without permission, and I've seen that happen before.
Some of the application of trademark law can be weird and arbitrary. Warner Bros. is WAY more draconian than Hasbro. They actually sent out a C & D letter to a New Hampshire professor teaching a Harry Potter themed reading class for kids! Freaked me out, because I teach it on the college level, and I didn't know that Harry Potter was actually Harry Potter (™). After a really weird conversation with someone at Warner Bros, who insisted that they wanted to keep the strictly entertainment value of the "properties," I said "heck with it" and wrote to JK Rowling's literary agents, and they wrote back saying, "we're cool."
Anyhoo, I know there's not going to be a Rainbow Power Pinkie anytime soon, so now I have her. They're on their way now, and once they're here, they'll have to pry 'em out of my cold, dead hands.
I wonder if Seth's going to delay doing a plushie compilation until the flap dies down?
