A random list of things I hate with a burning passion for absolutely no good reason

And which I actually don’t like hating all that much:

"War and Peace" I want those five days of my life back. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE.

Dreadlocks: a hair style which makes you smelly, is hell to clean, and which generally implies you want to be garbage in life.

Spelling errors. ESPECIALLY those that spellcheck doesn’t catch.

Artichokes. More like go choke on something and die.

Movimento a 5 stelle. Yeah, they’re bad and supremely horrible, I just hate them much more than is necessary. (trust me, you're better off not knowing. Italian politics are clusterfuck, and that sentence is correct).

The fact fedoras have become associated with misogyny in pop culture.

Claims that IQ doesn’t matter/is an imperfect measure anyway/and there’s more than one kind of intelligence etc. LOOK, GUYS, IT’S A METRIC, IT MAY BE FLAWED ALL YOU WANT BUT IT MEASURES SOMETHING, OK? and I say this as someone who probably doesn’t have a great IQ.

Republicans. I don’t actually hate them, but I constantly feel guilty because I feel I don’t give them as big of a chance as I should. And because I don't actually get exposed to a Republican point of view enough. Actually, make that go for religious persons as well, with a double heaping of guilt.

Vinyl and Octavia being in a relationship, same goes for Lyra and Bon Bo-you know what? I just hate fanfiction authors who always use fanon lore in their stories instead of making up their own. Again, all this hatred has absolutely no basis for existing.

"money doesn’t buy happiness" nope, but it sure buys NOT-unhappiness. Try going a week with no money for fun.

Facebook games. Especially Farmville clones. HAAAAAAAAAATEEEEEEEEE!!!

Old-ism. That is, the tendency to say: “Oh, things have been going downhill, recent times are crap, moral decay etc etc” things have never been better AND I HAVE DATA TO PROVE IT, NIMRODS WHO BELIEVE SUCH THINGS.

Touting death as something “natural” and having immortal characters angst over the fact they’re going to see their friends die of old age. This is a problem I see a lot in the My little Pony fandom, and…for fuck’s sake, outliving other people is something that happens to REAL people, not just immortal! What happens afterward is that they grieve and then MOVE ON. Stop trying to make me sympathize with someone who’s feeling suicidal because their friends are dead, when they can easily go out and MAKE NEW FRIENDS.* PETS DIE ALL THE TIME, IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE NEVER GOING TO HAVE JUST ‘CUZ YOU KNOW IT’S GOING TO DIE BEFORE YOU.

*this is not to mean I will never sympathize with a suicidal character; and actually, portraying depression in a story is something which is very hard, but which when done right is…true art.
