Crystal is the first and only one of her kind. She is a prototype infiltration unit created by the Spy Department of the Ministry of Morale under the hidden project named "Project Infiltrator".
Crystal's brain was removed from her deceased organic body and implanted into the skull of the titanium reinforced endoskeletal head of her mechanical body. A pure set of lungs and a heart were grown by Project Chimera using her DNA and they were implanted into the chest and connected with the brain to ensure it received oxygen from the blood. Her Infiltrator name was basically just I-01 (I meaning Infiltrator). She also retains her uterus as extensive notes from Project Iron Pony revealed a high chance of insanity if the subject is robbed of their gender and due to her role as an infiltrator it was deemed necessary for her to keep her genitalia intact.
Doctor Pear, a bio-engineering specialist developed a means to get organic matter to bond to synthetic materials which made it possible to create a skin for Crystal to hide her endoskeleton. Her body was designed to mimic a living pony from breathing, feeling pain, eating, drinking and sexual interaction. This made her probably the most complicated machine in existence but to successfully infiltrate the Zebras it was necessary. Unfortunately she came too late as when she was prepped for transportation back to the Marejave from Manehattan so her development could be completed the war brought an end... to everything. The final stage in her development was to be mentally reprogrammed for her role and given training experience modules so she would be able to fit into the Zebra ranks with knowing all known pony knowledge on them and their fighting abilities and weapons.
Damage to her organic cover was anticipated and to ensure she remained hidden a specialised talisman was created which is set into her chest. The regeneration talisman that was developed is surrounded by a blue steel ring which governs the way the talisman regulates its regenerative abilities. If the damage is minor and would heal naturally (since her flesh is living) then the talisman wouldn't repair the damage but if the damage is major for example as seen in the image above then the talisman will regrow the flesh if she is in a safe area.
Sorry, this was bugging me
