AST-Arc 1 finished, Rambles, · 7:39am Jul 16th, 2014
So at a little over 22k I have finished the first, arc (I guess we'll call it that), of the story. Fun times. At the moment of typing this I'm closing in on 25k(24.3k) words.
Had to do a bit of shuffling around of where and when the arcs are falling to keep my timelines straight though. I think it's working out well. :D Not much else to say on that front.
Surprisingly enough, I had to interrupt my writing several times to research things so I didn't fuck them up. The two biggest things so far, something medical related(because even in a land populated by magical talking equines I still wanted to know what I was talking about and not fuck up badly and I'm not going to spoil what I looked up because, spoilers ;p) and polishing/cleaning armour.
Yes, even in a fic about ponies research is still worth doing at times. If only so you don't make yourself look like a moron(and I'm really hoping I don't)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to make a reference sheet/list of all the characters with their names/appearances because I know I'm going to forget someone at some point or contradict myself. And scrolling back through pages upon pages to find something I wrote once or twice is no fun. And it cuts into my writing time. Especially for minor characters who pop up now and then. And fuck with describing everyone's cutie marks. Thinking those up is a pain. You know they're there and for the most part are unimportant to the story. So just a heads up. The story is to full of blank flanks, just an author who can't come up with individual cutie marks for darn character that speaks or is given a name(unless like I said it becomes relevant to the plot)
The story will likely have a 'Teen' rating for mild language and stuff like that, though it'll probably lean more towards being 'everyone' than 'mature' (I generally think of 'everyone' as 'this would be appropriate for the show')
I can't wait to post it for you all to read(if I can find a passage I like I may post a sort of teaser)
