hey so i had two questions
first
everyone on this site seems to have a snazzy avatar
i haven't gotten one because
well, i don't have a dumb oc pony
so, i dunno
i guess my question is, which pone should i avatar
or should i stay super mysterious
second thing
not really a question i guess
i posted a new story that i worked kind of hard on
and i guess since i didn't link it on clopsort or the usual places
and also because it had no sex
it only got like ninety views
so i was wondering
to people who are watching me for pony sex, is that sort of real storytelling not your sort of thing?
i keep thinking i want to get out of just writing about sex and try something more ambitious
but i guess if no one wants that then i will keep on keeping on
oh yeah, one other thing
current status of the request queue
i'm sorry i have been behind, i know i was cranking out two a week for a while but i guess the frenzy of momentum caught up with me and also real life
right now the story line up is
-request trade for cosmo
-request trade for someone else
and then i guess i can technically do whatever
so requests might be open at that point

Also, it's just the way of the world that non-clop gets a lot fewer views, but that shouldn't discourage you. If you want to write non-clop, then write non-clop. So long as one person likes something I write, that's all the accomplishment I need.

I don't really like OC's, because it can't look good and BE the author at the same time
But we didn't started to follow you because of your avatar, so do what you want
And your clop's are so good that all your fan's are only here for that, so of course you're getting less view.
At least for now, but non-clop fics are good too.It's just no the same public, and many BRONIES are like; author do a clopfic (or worse a human clop) and BANG you're on their blacklist = they won't read anything about you.
It's sad but that's the way some thinks.
But if that fic is as immersive and well written than your clops....
I blame it on the story being tagless with the characters being OC and Other. Its just hard to tell what kind of story it is so many people are to lazy to read it.
You have a couple of questions? Well, you're in luck, because I have a couple of answers.
First of all (as a note, this doesn't answer any of your questions), stop typing like a dumbass. I may respect you for your ability to write clop, stories, etc., but that does not mean I'm going to be nice about you writing like a third-grader with three fingers total. Seriously, don't do that.
Now, to answer your first question: No, you don't need some stupid OC pony to have an avatar, and if you're just getting an avatar to fit in... Well, fuck that shit. I have an avatar only because I like MegaTokyo, and hoodie-Ninj4s are badass. You don't need an avatar, and you should only get one if you want one for purposes aside from just fitting in. Doing it just to fit in is just... no. Just no.
Besides, it's not like people follow you based on what your avatar is.
As for your second inquiry, you have to keep in mind that you made a dramatic shift for your reader base. You've written (almost exclusively) clop up to this point, so suddenly going to something entirely plot-based would obviously be a bit of a... shock, for those that read mostly for the clop. While I enjoyed What You Can Imagine to a great extent (I need to review that, by the way), I'm much more prone to enjoying fics for the storyline rather than only for clop. Frankly, I'd recommend making a slower shift. If you're determined to write WYCI into a full length fic, then do so by all means, but you're going to lose some potential readers because you also write clop (goddamn prudes ruining everything for themselves... pfeh). If anything, following Applejinx's example and writing some plot-driven clopfics might make for a better shift. Still, it's up to you.
If it means anything, however, I do enjoy most of what you write, though you need to flesh out some of you character interactions a tad more.

If your just wanting to find a random image to crop and make your OC and dont mind a LOT of adult material (the websites is used mainly for ADULT ART. you can check out e621.net Its a pretty cool site, most of the art on it is adult though plus the tagging system is great to find just what you want on there.
You know, you can be a cool guy and make an OC human.

1. You don't need an OC poni to be a pretty cool dude. Just get something you like! Or.. even a symbol that you made!
2. The sad truth is, I watched you for a clopfic which I particularly enjoyed, but if you would rather write things that you like, go ahead! It doesn't matter what readers think about your story, just that you like to write what you write! I've gotten a little creative in the time since I have joined FIMFiction, beginning multiple stories at once - ranging in a lot of different directions.

I like when an author has an eye-catching avatar, or at least something unique that i can identify them by. I don't really know why, thinking about it in hindsight, i can't think of any real point to it. Maybe it just gives you personality, which everyone loves, i would think.
As for the whole clop vs not, my personal vote goes to having multiple accounts for that sort of thing. I think there's a pretty definable split in fimfiction's userbase, between cloppers and non-cloppers (not to say there isn't a fraction that are both). If you post both types of stories on one account, you'll most likely split your viewerbase and the people here for a good story might be less inclined to watch because they don't want clop in their feed. And vice versa for those just here for the clop of course. It's the nature of things. I'm not much of a reader personally. I have other things i prefer to do with my time, so i'm just here for the clop, like i assume so many other are.

There are several other authors I know of that maintain two separate accounts on here, one exclusively for posting their cloppy stories and another for their other writing. If you're worried that being a 'clop writer' is stopping people from reading your non-clop stories for whatever reason, then that's a possible solution. What You Can Imagine was definitely worthy of more than the small handful of readers it got.
